15 years in the game.
And one sign stopped me cold. 😅
I was so ready for this event.
Gear loaded the night before.
Car packed to the roof.
Rolled into the venue feeling like I had everything under control.
Unloaded onto my cart.
Pushed through the front doors.
Made my way toward the elevator—
And then I saw it.
A sign that I was absolutely not expecting.
Three words.
That's all it took to flip my whole morning upside down.

Watch the video to find out what happened next — and what I added to my checklist because of it.

I learned this the hard way.

You look AMAZING at hour one.

By hour three?

Drink in hand, tie loosened, mascara doing its own thing — and someone's already spilled something on someone else's dress.

That's not me judging you.

That's just humans being humans at events.

So I have a rule:

The best photos happen in the first 20 minutes.

Which is why, if you see me moving through a room with suspiciously enthusiastic energy the moment guests arrive —

I'm not being pushy.

I'm being strategic.

Because the version of you that walked in the door?

Fresh. Sharp. Put together.

That's the one that ends up on the website.

That's the one you send to the board.

That's the one that makes the highlight reel.

This is also why I love a red carpet.

Nobody questions the photo.

Nobody has a loosened tie.

Nobody is three drinks into a "quick conversation."

Everyone is still pristine — and the camera is right there.

The red carpet was invented for people like me.

So if I ever grab you and your whole table for a group shot the moment you arrive —

just smile.

I'm saving you from yourself.

📸 If you want someone at your next event who actually thinks about getting you the best photos before the night gets away from you — that's what I do.

If you ever walked the halls of Albert Campbell Collegiate Institute — this one's for you. 🎓🚨

I was hired to photograph their 50th anniversary and what a day it was.

Hundreds of alumni came back for the old classrooms, the lockers, the jerseys, the yearbooks, the school band, and more hugs than a family Christmas.

And then somebody pulled the fire alarm.

A fully grown adult. At a 50th anniversary reunion. Pulled. The. Fire. Alarm. 😂

The fire department showed up, everyone filed outside, and the reunion carried right on — because apparently some things are just hardwired from high school.

It was chaotic, hilarious, and honestly? Perfect. Exactly why I love what I do.

Were you there? I've got the photos to prove it — all of it. Comment below or send me a message for access to the full gallery. You might find yourself in a very memorable moment. 😄

Drop your grad year below — let's see how far back this goes! ⬇️

Toronto went crazy over a block of ice…

Meanwhile most event content stays frozen.

If your content shows up weeks later…
you’ve already missed the moment.

Let’s break the ice at your next event.

All they saw was a camera pointed at them.
That’s it.

They walked up, smiled, answered a number of questions… and walked away.
Simple.

But here’s what they didn’t see 👇
Before a single interview happened:

• we mapped out the flow of the space
• adjusted lighting so it felt natural (not intimidating)
• chose a background that actually represents the event
• moved things out of frame that didn’t belong
• positioned cameras so it felt like a conversation—not an interrogation

Because the goal isn’t just to record people.

It’s to make them feel comfortable enough to be themselves.

That’s when the real answers show up.

That’s when the content actually works.

In this clip, I’m capturing a quick interview with the host, Tanika "iNsight" Riley.

What you see is the camera.
What you don’t see… is everything that made that moment work.

And that’s the difference between content that gets watched—
…and content that gets skipped.

What if yesterday’s video was just the trailer, and today’s is the full story your brand needs?

What if you could improve your videos with some simple fixes.

Some videos are flat because they lack STORYTELLING.

I realized that my AI video post yesterday got good engagement of AI-me-in-a-helicopter but it felt incomplete.

So I expanded it into a well-rounded video—because storytelling is what makes people feel, remember, and act.

Flash grabs eyes, but stories leave a lasting impression—AI or real life.

Let’s make sure your brand’s story isn’t just seen—but felt.
------------------
CHANGES I MADE TO YESTERDAY'S VIDEO:
-Expanded this into a 3 scene story
-Introduced other characters
-Made me a sympathetic character
-Added text on screen to help guide the story

Using AI to achieve my dream job of being a Superbowl photographer.

This feels extreme.

Most people think Headshot Day is about the camera…
but the hardest part isn’t the gear.
It’s the people.

Some employees walk in confident.
Some walk in terrified.
Some walk in thinking,
“Let’s get this over with.”

And that’s why Headshot Day is never just about taking photos.
It’s about managing energy, calming nerves, and guiding 25+ personalities through a moment they might not enjoy.

Before I take a single shot, I:

✨ Set expectations
✨ Walk them through the process
✨ Give simple, confidence-boosting coaching
✨ Show the final image so they know they look great

And almost every time, I hear:

“Oh… okay. That wasn’t so bad.”

Of course it wasn’t.
Because when you make people feel comfortable,
the photos take care of themselves. 📸

I love when clients do things for you when you don't even have to ask

10/30/2025

The brief time between packing up your photography gear to getting behind the wheel to drive home is when you get one of 2 feelings .

1-You think of something you SHOULD have done in the shoot.

2-You are excited to send the photos to the client because you know they are exactly what they wanted.

Earlier this week, it was definitely option 2 for me.
