What a fantastic first day of classes we had. I got to work with new piano students who really impressed me with how quickly they settled into class and how fast their fingers picked up the pace.

We started with left hand at just 50 BPM but were doing two hands at 100 BPM by the end of the class!

And it was great to see some of my favorite students return after a summer of camping, travel and lots of Netflix!

I am looking forward to tomorrow when I get to teach my first guitar classes (and first rock band class!) of the 2017-18 school year.

Music Class Countdown 2017 - 3 Days Until Lessons Begin!

Have you ever experienced goose bumps or a spine chill when listening to or playing music?

Here's a fascinating study on a phenomenon I once heard referred to as "The God Chills" - when a person gets goosebumps while listening to or playing music or gets a chill up the spine.

I still remember when this started happening to me as a young musician - it was invigorating and intriguing. This response is an indication that body, mind and spirit have all "let go" to the power of music and have fallen into the flow of the universe's song.
