From The Skaha Kennel Ckub:

The Skaha Kennel Club sincerely regrets to inform you that we are having to cancel the Sept 4 - 7, 2026, SKC Dog Show this year. Due to circumstances beyond our control and despite diligent attempts to find other solutions, we cannot financially, ethically or physically make it work. As of last night the District of Summerland advised that our venue, Dale Meadows, has been assigned as the staging area for the Wildfire Crew as they continue to battle the fires in the community and surrounding areas for the duration of our state of emergency.

We wish to thank Classic Show Services for their hours of effort on the club's behalf and the many dedicated event goers that stood by us while we worked to try and find a way thru. Your patience and consideration are sincerely appreciated.

Those that have already entered Skaha will be automatically refunded 100% of their entry fee in the next few days. There is no need to contact Classic Show Services. In lieu of the service fees, Dogshow has kindly offered a very generous donation to the club to help the club recover their losses.

Weimaraner Club of Canada - entries will be put on hold until the club is able to confirm updates on a 2026 National still coming. More to follow shortly. Classic is hoping by holding the entries, the service fee will not have to be paid twice. If you do however wish to cancel these, just email [email protected].

Collie Club of BC - entries will be refunded and news of plans going forward updated asap.

To the front line workers near and afar who came together to fight this fires - you are truly amazing. We are forever thankful to you for all that you do, and have done, and so as a Club we will gratefully move aside and let you get on with your vital work. Please be safe.
