As a Life Cycle Celebrant trained as a Wedding Officiant, I bring a different approach to the ceremony.

✨ Marriage Commissioners
Marriage Commissioners are appointed by the province to perform legal civil marriages. Their role is primarily focused on the legal requirements of marriage, and they have specific rules around what they can include in the ceremony.

✨ A Life Cycle Celebrant / Wedding Officiant
My focus is on creating a ceremony that feels like you — while making sure all the legal requirements are properly included.

I work with couples to add some personalization, whether that’s a favourite story, meaningful words, a reading, a family member participating, a special ritual, or simply a little more of your personalities woven into the ceremony.

And yes, I still take care of the important legal parts. ❤️

There isn’t a right or wrong choice — it really comes down to what you want your ceremony to feel like.

🐾 When the Farm Cat Becomes Part of the Ceremony…

Every wedding has that one guest who just has to be part of the action… and at this recent farm wedding, that guest happened to have four legs and a serious attitude. 😹

The farm cat greeted guests as they arrived, casually making the rounds as though she were the official wedding hostess.

But her biggest moment came during the ceremony…

As we were getting ready to sign the marriage license, she decided there was no better place for a cat nap than right on top of the paperwork! 🐱💤

Apparently, she felt the marriage license needed a little extra supervision.

I’m not sure if she was blessing the marriage, claiming the paperwork as her own, or simply deciding that love is exhausting. 😂

One thing is certain—this farm wedding had a very special guest who made the day even more memorable.

And honestly… you just can’t plan moments like that. ❤️🐾

As we wrap up the beautiful wedding months of June, July & August, it’s hard to believe we’re already stepping into September.

The long summer days are giving way to cozy fall evenings, warm colours, changing leaves and a whole new wedding mood. 🤎🍁

There’s something so beautiful about September weddings — that perfect transition between summer and fall, with all the romance that comes with a new season.

Summer weddings may be winding down, but love stories never do. 💍✨

🐾 Should your dog be part of your wedding?

Let’s be honest… if your dog looks this good in a tux, how could you not consider it? 🤵🏻🐾

For many couples, their dog is family, so having them be part of the wedding day feels completely natural. But before giving your pup a starring role, there are a few things to think about:

Will they enjoy it? A busy wedding can be exciting, but it can also be overwhelming.

What role would suit them? Walking down the aisle, joining you for photos, or simply being there for part of the day can all be meaningful.

Who will look after them? Have someone they know and trust responsible for your pup so you can stay focused on getting married.

Does your venue allow dogs? And of course, consider your guests, especially anyone with allergies or fears.

Sometimes the best choice is simply having your dog join you for photos before or after the ceremony. You still get those special memories without the extra stress.

Because your wedding should feel like you—and if your dog is part of your story, there’s often a beautiful way to include them. 🤍

And yes… I absolutely approve of a little canine formalwear. 😉🐾

🤍 One of my favourite parts of being an officiant is storytelling.

I love hearing your story—the little moments, the laughter, the challenges, and the things that brought you to this day.

Because when your story is woven into your ceremony, it becomes more than words. It becomes a reflection of who you are, where you’ve been, and the love that brought you here.

And when I see you smile, laugh, or shed a happy tear because you’re hearing your own story reflected back to you, that’s when I know we’ve created something truly special. ✨

I’m always so grateful when a couple chooses me to be part of such an important day and trusts me to tell a little piece of their story. 🤍

🤍 25 years, and a beautiful “I do” today 🤍

Today I had the absolute honour of marrying a couple who have already shared 25 years of life, love and memories together.

With their two grown daughters by their side, their ceremony was incredibly intentional — taking a moment to honour the journey that brought them here, the family they’ve created, and all that still lies ahead.

Their sand ceremony was such a beautiful symbol of their lives coming together — not beginning something new, but celebrating everything they have already built and choosing each other for all the years to come.

There were so many emotional moments throughout the ceremony, and I feel incredibly honoured that they trusted me to be part of such a meaningful day. 🤍

25 years behind them. A lifetime still ahead. And today, they made it official. ✨
