An Absolutely amazing day was had for our contestants on Saturday at our Miss Plus Size Desert Diamonds Health and Wellness Day

Contestants got to enjoy a lovely workout and a table discussion with Tau Rin as motivation that being thick cannot stop you from achieving anything you want to achieve.

My name is Oratile Phiri, a mother of 3, married to an amazing husband who is supportive of me always.

Once upon a time i was slim and loved pageantry 😂😂
I had babies and responsibilities changed, being a mother, wife, a businesswoman and an employee is not a joke. This led to me joining the plus size crew 🫣😃 I used to be gym active(thing of the past, but loading soon😃)

Through pageants i did projects and was in love with one in particular, being a GBV advocate which taught me a lot. Speaking to the affected has changed my life and many others.

Being a plus size means being judged by society (mma o nonne jang when people meet you in the streets) which is completely unnecessary 😂😂 but i have learnt to accept myself for who i am and what i have become, i embrace myself and never mind the negative comments (self love)

Very happy to be one of the participants of the plus size pageant, to socialize and make friendships and families from this. Most importantly, i am here for the crown 😃

My motto : Be the change you want to see in the world

My name is Olebile Elizabeth Monganeng from Ramatlabama ❤️ I work as a beauty therapist.
I am a very bubbly person who believes in team spirit.. I believe in helping other people to make them smile
I believe that “Motho ke motho ka batho ba bangwe” This simply means that I am what I am because of the love I was given by people around me.
As a plus size queen in the beauty industry I have realized that most of our plus size queens had to accepted them selves in terms of the way they look these results in low self esteem as well as mental breakdown and sometimes they get pressurized by the society to loose weight. Therefore some opt to isolate them selves from public and these brings a negative impact to their live style as well as their mental health. I want every plus size queen outhere to know that “it’s ok to have cellulite, it’s ok to have to have dark inner thighs.” Just fix your crown and be confident

Winning these competition will be a blessing to me and plus size community because am here to help others to shine and be happy

I am a strong woman of faith who grew up in church were praising God became part of my lifestyle resulting in me being interested in Gospel music🤞🙏(praise the Lord).

No stranger to peagentry I've taken part in beuty peagent at a young age in junior school school were developed the love for beuty contest.Being miss plus size dessert Diamonds will help me overcome the criticism we as plus sized women face in the morden society,it will also encourage me to accept myself and also bring body shaming to an end .

Ms. Loago Kinnely Kaboyamodimo nee Mupinda, 42 years of age. My home village is Kanye, in the southern part of Botswana.A Primary school teacher by profession, who is currently pursuing her Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education at the University of Botswana, she has been empowering herself through Allison online and attained a few qualifications, which are a diploma in organizational behavior and a certificate in special education for children with Dyslexia. Ms. Loago is also an award medalist in recognition of Mid Career Service under the Ministry of Education and Skills Development by His Excellency, the President of Botswana Dr M.E.K.Masisi in 2023.

She has an emense passion for beauty pageantry, which is why she is a plus-size model and pursuing the MISS Plus Size Desert Diamonds competition. Loago has, over the years, groomed herself in the art of motivating other therefore she considers herself an aspiring motivational speaker who has recently stated practicing her motivational job at NGWAKETSE JSS WOMEN DAY Celebration in March 2024.

The reasons why she joined Miss Desert Diamond Plus size, is that, she is aiming to use this platform as a plus size woman to empower women to be confident in their own body,bto love and appreciate themselves as they are.

Being a teacher is a blessing to her because the platform will also helps her to further her daily duty to become a role model to both learners and women, to empower them on issues of how to deal with body shaming, self acceptance, personal growth and how to positively strengthen their mental health.

Becoming a finalist in this competition she has embodied the spirit of compassion, empathy, resilience, wellness and body positivity and fitness. Her aspiration in life is being a queen with a purpose, full of life, ambitious and unwavering commitment in helping and giving back to the community especially the marginalized women and people living with disabilities.

Winning this competition will be a dream come true for her. She will invest her achievements in partnering with other stakeholders and business entities to create jobs and careers for both youth and women for them to be independent, hence reducing issues of woman abuse and mental health.

Welcome to Meet & Greet Mondays

I am Nthabiseng Mafoko, a 32years old lady who comes from a village that loves and respects its culture named Mochudi. I was raised by a woman who is a fighter,she taught me to be strong and have faith in myself....

I am a self taught baker. I own Mbali's Yummy treats... I love being in the kitchen, playing around with flour as they say "experment is the best teacher" I also love Clap and tap music, it soothes my soul.

As difficult as it is, going around as a plus size, the challenges we face that at some point makes one lose confidence I believe Being *Miss Plus Size Desert Diamonds * will give me a great platform to promote self love, acceptance and inclusivity. It is important to empower others and challenge societal norms. So, I will challenge myself on teaching others about self love and acceptance. Having posters, billboards of plus size queens and the use of social media platforms may help me spread positivity.
