Mokgalo Junior Secondary School in Lecheng is grappling with a bedbug infestation that has disrupted learning activities.

Lecheng-Malaka councillor Barulaganye Lebang told Duma FM News that the problem began on Thursday, and on Friday they sprayed two classroom blocks, however the infestation persisted and has now spread to student dormitories and the teachers’ houses.

The school has not been officially closed, but learners continue to report to campus without attending classes due to the situation.

Authorities say they are awaiting guidance from the Ministry of Child Welfare and Basic Education on the next course of action.
