Swing Buzz Festival 2026 is proud to welcome Hornsgatan Ramblers to Sofia! πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ͺ

Hornsgatan Ramblers is a jazz octet from Stockholm, Sweden with an emphasis on swing music from the 1930-1940s. They are striving after their own sound but heavily inspired by the small and big bands of giants such as Duke Ellington, Teddy Wilson, Count Basie, Benny Goodman just to name a few.

By now their music has brought them to countries such as South Korea, China, Greece, Italy, Germany, Finland, Turkey, Denmark, Lithuania, United Kingdom, Spain, Switzerland, Poland, Belgium, Netherlands and of course all around Sweden.

The Band started in the autumn of 2009 when a few swing dancers in Stockholm decided to form a band to start playing the music that they loved dancing to. The name comes from a street in the neighborhood in Stockholm where the world famous Chicago Swing Dance Studio is located and where their very first rehearsals took place.

Several of the band members are also active in the renowned swing dance company The Hot Shots.πŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί

Patrik and Lizette have been dance partners since 2015 🀝 when they started dancing with the internationally known dance company The Hot Shots 🌟. They are based in Stockholm πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ͺ and have specialized in Lindy Hop and other swing dances πŸŽ·πŸ•ΊπŸ’ƒ. On stage they perform with both character and feeling 🎭✨. Together, they travel the world to perform and teach 🌍✈️. Lizette and Patrik draw inspiration from original dancers, like the legendary performers in Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers ⭐, and place great value on the roots of dance 🌱 while always keeping personal style in focus πŸ’«.

πŸŽ‰ Sakarias β€œThe Champ” Larsson & Elice are joining Swing Buzz Festival 2026! πŸŽ·πŸ•ΊπŸ’ƒ

Sakarias β€œThe Champ” Larsson was born and raised in FrufΓ€llan, on the west side of Sweden πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ͺ. He watched jitterbug contests as a kid and there were some things with the music and the aesthetics of the dance that spoke to him 🎢✨ and he decided to learn. One thing led to another and already at sixteen he started practice with The Rhythm Hot Shots (now called The Hot Shots) πŸ•Ί. That was 25 years ago and he’s been with the group ever since πŸ”₯.

He actually met and knew some of the original swing dancers of Harlem and he was good friends with Frankie Manning ❀️. The dancers from the Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers are his true idols ⭐. But he also finds a lot of inspiration in modern day dancers such as Peter Loggins, Minn Vo, Jeremy Otth and of course Vincenzo Fesi πŸ’«. A few years back he decided to try something else and wanted to be a rock β€˜n’ roller 🎸. He started learning the drums πŸ₯ and soon joined and started touring with the well recognised band The Vanjas 🎢. He’s also the drummer of the travelling jazz band Hornsgatan Ramblers 🎷. He’s a man of contradictions: a performer with stage fright, a teacher with social anxiety.

Elice from Stockholm, Sweden πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ͺ has a background as an elite gymnast and modern dancer πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈ. She discovered lindy hop at the age of 24 and, of course, she instantly fell in love with the acrobatic influences and the role of self-expression πŸ’ƒβœ¨. What she appreciates most while dancing is the artistic exchange that happens between two individuals β€” as well as between the dancers and the music β€” in each millisecond of a dance πŸŽΆπŸ’«. As a member of the swing dance company The Hot Shots, Elice travels around the globe to perform and teach πŸŒπŸ•ΊπŸ’ƒ β€” always inspired by the greats from back in the days ⭐. You might also find her on stage singing at times... 🎀🎡

πŸ’₯ Let’s kick off our amazing line-up with Alex McCormack, who is back at Swing Buzz Festival | Sofia 25-27 Sept 2026 for the 3rd year in a row! πŸŽ‰πŸ”₯πŸ™Œ

Alex is a Benelux multiple-time vice champion in breaking πŸ† and has been teaching various street styles since 2006 πŸ•Ίβœ¨. In 2013, he discovered old clips like Hellzapoppin and The Spirit Moves πŸŽ₯🎞️ and began his journey to emulate the β€œoldstyle” in Black American Jazz and Lindy Hop πŸŽ·πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸ”₯.

Most of his inspiration comes from studying the Greats πŸ™ŒπŸ“š and connecting directly with elders πŸ§ πŸ’¬β€οΈ. His motto?
β€œMaster the foundation to understand the dance and personalise to contribute to it.” πŸ—οΈπŸŽΆβœ¨

He’ll jam for hours into the early morning πŸŒ™πŸ”₯ β€” from uptempo Bebop Swing 🎷⚑ to shaky Mambo πŸ’ƒπŸŒ΄ and slow Blues πŸ–€πŸŽ΅πŸŽΆ.

Back in Brussels, he regularly trains with his group, the Old Soulz πŸ™οΈπŸ•ΊπŸ”₯.
