Hello adventurer, let's take a look at what happened before, in order to be prepared for the upcoming trials.
The Fey Fair of Commerce started calmly with a theatrical play introducing the visiting adventurers into what had transpired last year - Chernobog, the primordial power of chaos, had seeped into the fey realm of Witchaven, corrupting both the mortal altars to their deities (save for the altar to Lada, goddess of love), as well as the ritual circle of Baba Yaga and the human sacrifice to her. As a result, the realm of Witchaven grew darker and more corrupted.
During the theatrical play, Chernobog's cleric appeared in the flesh to taunt the adventurers and proclaim his victory. During the following days, the heroes struggled to overcome various challenges to empower the six altars of their patrons - Baba Yaga, Scarlet - the Red Riding Hood, the Gods of Light, the Gods of Nature, the Gods of Darkness, the Gods of Order and Justice, and the God of Chaos - Chernobog, himself. To their dismay, several portals to the realm of Chernobog started opening, letting in more of his Shadows. The adventurers fought to close them, with success waning in the balance.
Ultimately, they managed to secure a victory for the Gods of Order and Justice. The Coven of Baba Yaga succeeded in securing her power and hold over the realm as well. However, the forces of Scarlet - the Red Riding Hood - seeking to overthrow her mother's reign failed, missing one crucial last ingredient. Before the night was through, Baba Yaga met her rebellious daughter and gave her the final ingredient to her goal as an offering of peace, striking a shaky alliance and a potential road to redemption for the young witch.
The Fey Fair of Commerce concluded with the power of Baba Yaga secured and fortified, and the Gods of Order and Justice firmly establishing their influence over Witchaven, ushering in a new Age of Balance!
Other events of importance include:
- The growth and development of several guilds, evolving into something greater and more powerful than ever seen in Witchaven.
- The arrest and de-portalization of Scamdalf, the infamous wizard of commerce, by Summer court agents. He was arrested and imprisoned on charges of theft, espionage, and genocide for stealing all the honey in the Summer court, and thus halting their growth and breeding. A handful of brave adventurers dared to travel to the Summer court and rescued Scamdalf, who, in return, "fixed" the economy of Witchaven.
