ZONDER STEUN VAN DE VLAAMSE GEMEENSCHAP

In recent years, we’ve had the opportunity to organize our regular activities, primarily thanks to the project grants we received from the Flemish Community.
While these grants were always limited, they allowed us to present a program that, in our view, was diverse and of artistic quality. Moreover, they enabled us to fairly compensate the artists, in line with current standards. I guess it’s worth mentioning that Sara and I have always handled everything on a voluntary basis.
For 2025, we submitted an ambitious project with a variety of initiatives, drawing from the energy of recent months.
Last week, we received the conclusion: a strong application, an all-round positive review, but unfortunately €0,00 in funding due to an insufficient budget. What a disappointment!
In other words, at this point, we have no guarantee of any financial support. In the field we work, especially here in Mechelen, this naturally leaves us quite vulnerable.
Nevertheless, we are determined to move forward, although likely at a slower pace.
We have already committed to a number of concerts and collaborations, but other plans will likely need to be revisited.
The search for alternative funding will continue, but we won’t get lost in it and will keep our focus on what really inspires us.
