One of the most iconic designs in all of Dutch paper money, and an extremely rare uncirculated example. Representing massive purchasing power at the time of issue, this note was equal to about two or three months' average salary in the Netherlands in the late 1950s. Its use was reserved for larger transactions, such as trading livestock, which was traditionally conducted in cash. The design is beautiful, with a self-portrait of Rembrandt on the front, and details of Rembrandt paintings, a palette, and a paintbrush on the back.

An incredibly important opportunity for the Lithuanian specialist. This type, which commemorated the 20th anniversary of Lithuanian independence, was prepared by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. in late 1938, but the notes were never issued into circulation and most are believed to have been destroyed. None of the notes printed for issuance appear to have survived, limiting the available supply to an extremely limited number of proofs and specimens.

A popular and important type from Egypt that, while often seen in circulated grades, is a major rarity at the About Uncirculated level. While three notes grade finer in the PMG population report as of the time of cataloging, we have been unable to find many auction results of this type in grades above Very Fine. In addition, the note offered in the present lot is entirely problem-free, with very limited signs of circulation, good color, and excellent paper quality. For the advanced specialist in Egyptian paper money attempting to build one of the finest collections, this is certainly a lot to strongly consider.
