Soumaya Phéline has been active, among other things, as a promoter and DJ in Brussels since 2006.
as a DJ, she vacillates from Bass to Jungle to Techno or another, she pays particular attention to narratives through unsettling sounds. Her DJ sets play with layers, creating a cinematic depth, while playing with the crowd’s expectations of kicks: carefully questioning them while keeping an eye on the dance floor’s desires.
If electronic music has been deeply influenced by an outer space imaginary, Soumaya belongs to those who bring our attention back to the outerspaceness of earthy sounds.
She has established long-standing party concepts like: High Needs Low at Gare du Congrès and is currently organizing Another Way to Play Festival, where she has her own show, “Soumaya Phéline & LesCopains,” she has been involved with .radio since day one.
In 2025, she begins a residency at Q-O2, an arts laboratory for experimental music and sound art in Brussels, to develop her music practice. She has toured the club circuit throughout Europe, performing at renowned clubs and festivals. (such as Dekmantel, Horst, La Machine du moulin rouge, among many other festivals and clubs)
Her activism is central to her community engagement, reflecting her values through her work. She curated and developed projects such as Collective Thinking, Justice Pour Toust.es, and Estafette for Palestine at Les Halles de Schaerbeek as an associate artist, as well as having been a part of
