From now on Bordgenoten is an official part of Dwaalzin and the next meetups will be in BROEI 🎲 we will be playing in Bar Broei so it will be easy to find :)

Since Boba Cat is closed we had to look for a new place where people can come together and Connect through Boardgames, we believe Dwaalzin is the perfect partner for that. Since their focus is also on creating a safe(r) space where everyone is welcome as long as their is mutual respect and kindness.

Me and Lumi have been thinking of also setting up some House Rules, and this Sunday we will be both there in Broei Playing games from 14:00 till 19:00

One of our Bordgenoten is also hosting the game “Red Dragon Inn” from 15:00 til … so if you want to join make sure you are on time!

It’s international cat day! And Jessy is my World 💜 here some pictures of the little Guy making my life so beautiful 🐈‍⬛
He is 8 years old now, and he came into my life when he was 3. He is a very shy and scared little one but when we are alone he loves to play and be Goofy with me. At night he always sleeps by my Side, we both cant really sleep without being in the same room. I’m so grateful having Jessy as my familiar 🙏

This Friday is one of the last 4 board game meetups we can organize at the Boba Cat before it closes for good on August 14th! The theme is “Party Games” and light to medium games so that we have plenty of variety and can enjoy a fun and probably slightly chaotic afternoon 🎲🥳

From 15:00 til 19:00 we will be playing games like Spicy, Muffin Time, Codenames, The Gang, Ratjack, Not Alone, …

Be sure to stop by if you want to enjoy a great atmosphere and the best Boba Tea in all of Ghent!

King of Tokyo Duel 🦖⚡

If you’re looking for a heavy strategic game, this probably isn’t it. But if you,
Like me, enjoy an exciting two-player game with lots of interaction, fun dice moments, and the occasional satisfying comeback, then King of Tokyo Duel is absolutely worth checking out.

I was curious to see how they would translate the chaos and fun of King of Tokyo into a two-player game, and I have to say… they pulled it off surprisingly well.

The dice are still at the heart of the game, so luck plays a big role. Thankfully, you have plenty of meaningful choices to influence that luck. Do you push your luck and reroll? Do you focus on dealing damage, healing yourself, or collecting energy to buy powerful cards? Those decisions keep every turn engaging!

What I enjoyed most is that there’s more than one path to victory. Sure, you can simply knock your opponent out, but you can also work towards winning in other ways. It makes every match feel a little different and forces you to adapt to your opponent’s strategy.

The rules are easy to learn, setup is quick, and games don’t overstay their welcome. It’s the perfect choice when you’re looking for a lighthearted duel that still offers enough meaningful decisions to stay interesting.

I find King of Tokyo Duel an accessible, fast-paced, and highly entertaining duel game that will probably hit the table far more often than you’d expect from looking at the box.

Next up on the calendar! As usual every friday we meet up Boba Cat and since they will close in August these are the last meetups you can attend there!

For the first time on 2th of July we will be organising a Role Playing Game Night! No boardgames this time, just your imagination^^ BRAM BOSSUYT ART 'N GAMES will be the evening’s host on our Dwaalzin meetup. Bram is a wonderful game master, every time I join to play an RPG with him, I have a great time. I will be there too and we might play an rpg with Jenga or with some crayons to build a city, or go on a great adventure together! BROEI

It’s and yesss we will be there with Dwaalzin playing light partygames! From UNO to Flip7 ^^

I’ve always believed that board games are just the excuse. The real reason people come back is the connection.

As a sociologist, I’ve spent years thinking about what helps people feel part of a community. What fascinates me is that a table full of strangers can sit down together, skip the awkward small talk, and within an hour be laughing like they’ve known each other for years.

A game gives people something rare:
a shared experience before a shared history. That’s why Bordgenoten has never really been about board games. It’s about creating a space where people can belong.

Last thursday we had our Bordgenoten Meetup BROEI Bar Broei together with Dwaalzin and it was a really nice gathering!

At our meetups we want to Bring people together, find new friends and have fun. Boardgames are such an easy way to let people join u at the table. Ever since I have made such good new friends, and I’m very grateful for each and every one of you 💜

EXAMS ARE DONE!!! This semester has not been fun… now it’s back to our favorite hobby… Boardgames! I haven’t been posting for months but i’m so glad a lot of amazing meetups are lined up 🥳

Next up the Calendar:
- thursday Dwaalzin Bordgenoten meetup BROEI and this time we we are playing Ticket To Ride and The Quest for El Dorado with the topic being: travel!
- friday 19-06 from 14:00 till 19:00 our weekly Boardgame meetup Boba Cat - come visit now you can! Because they are closing in August and we have no idea where to go next!
- saturday 20-06 from 14:00 till 19:00 we are meeting Boba Cat !! Since our days are Numbered here we are going to make the MOST of it!! OMG I’m going to miss this place…
- the week after from friday till saturday 26 and 27th of June there is the Nemesis Gent 24hour! And saturday it’s in the Worlds End Comics and Games while there’s also an Unmatched Gent tournament that I will also be attending! Together by Surpy

I am so glad school is over 🤣
