🌀 The 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗽 is an event showcasing upcoming directors from Belgium and beyond. The genre is irrelevant; it’s the message that matters. Short movies offer a glimpse into the world that an up-and-coming filmmaker wants to create and dare to show. These glimpses deserve to be shown on a big screen, just like any renovated movie with a big budget. We are screening the future talents of our film-making community 🌀

‘I’m very excited to share with you on 1 June 2026 the films I’ve selected for my first curated Short Movie Loop. It will be an afternoon where the cinema doors are open, allowing you to drop in and perhaps bump into one of the creators. We’ll round off the evening with the final full screening programme behind closed doors for a proper cinema experience, followed by a Q&A with the directors themselves!’

, inventor of Needle Nails, enchants with her innovative sound techniques and handmade records. Her sounds oscillate between moments of restraint and swells of frenetic and confrontational movement. Eschewing conventions in harmony and rhythm in favor of extreme textures and gestural tones, Shen uses what she calls ‘chaotic sound’ to oppose signal and information, eluding traditionally embedded meaning. Her personal identity, her body, is the space her work utilizes to restructure sonic meaning.

In her live performances, she proposes an exploration between meaning and non-meaning through the physical activation of noise tropes. The appendage-like instruments and objects she makes, exemplify Shen’s ability to embody through sound her interest in the tension created by opposition: control and chaos, the unique and the mass produced, the practical and the absurd.

🌝 Get to know Laraaji: a living legend, a groundbreaking ambient musician, mystic, sonic alchemist and laughter meditation guide.

He made his first stage appearance as a comifian in New York City before concentrating in music full time. In the late 1960s he moved into acting work, appearing in the cult classic “Putney Swope”, among other things. After an experience hearing the music of the spheres, Laraaji decided to pursue music more seriously. He began performing on the streets with a modified autoharp augmented with electronic effects. For more than 40 years Laraaji has been playing his music all over the world. He has connected with a new generation of underground musicians who have been inspired by his early work.
