Four months of BLUR.
Four months. It feels unreal how fast it’s gone. I could spend hours explaining how much this project means to me — how it has been living inside me for almost a year already — and how every Saturday carries equal parts anxiety and joy, discovery and intensity, doubt and happiness.
I’m incredibly lucky to be the artistic director, curator and booker of this project. Even after doing this job since 1998, BLUR challenges me daily.
Every week is a new artistic lesson. I constantly question the choices we make, the direction we take, the way the club welcomes you, the way we communicate, the way we listen to your feedback and react, the way I simply make my beloved job in a constant evoluating world.
That’s the privilege of this work: permanent reinvention. Learning. Always learning. Listening. Looking forward while staying rooted in what came before.
What makes this journey even more meaningful is the team behind it — passionate people, each brilliant in their field, who give their energy to BLUR every single week. Each person is a stone in a building that is still under construction. We are shaping it day after day, with care and conviction.
For this post, I chose to share the six first posters. They are also a tribute and focus to Steve Marshall. This graphic genius I have admired for so many years honored us by accepting to work on this project. I would never have believed it possible — and yet, he did.
Every single day, I realize how fortunate we are to have such an artist by our side, helping us translate and communicate all the passion we pour into this project.
And finally, thank you to all of you.
For dancing with us.
For trusting us.
For sharing your thoughts.
We take every piece of feedback seriously.
We try to improve every single week.
It’s only the begining… Maybe one day we’ll become a perfect club.
But do we really want that?
