Back in 2013 three promoters from three different crews (Next Level Sh*t, Foot Juice and Mint) decided to put their heads together to come up with new means to promote their local beat scene. The result: Champion Sound, a Belgium based concept that serves as a platform for promoting talented beatmakers/producers. During their annual beat battle sixteen beatmakers compete against each other by samp

ling a batch of tracks. It has been inspiring to see new and established names get out of their comfort zone to deliver exciting, new beats. What started as a beat battle, has grown into a whole platform: from curating their 22tracks Brussels beats playlist and releasing music to hosting parties and playing 'strictly Belgian' DJ sets as Champion Soundsystem. Why do we organize these workshops?

While our Champion Sound Beat Battle has succeeded to attract a lot of Belgian beatmakers and producers over the past couple of years, we usually come to same conclusion: barely any female* producers sign up for the challenge.

Therefore, Champion Sound and Trix would like to engage more music enthusiasts who define themselves as female* to start producing music.

*We use an inclusive definition of the word 'female' and welcome trans, genderqueer, intersex and non-binary people.

And the winner is… Hazel Halle!

We would like to thank all the producers and the amazing crowd for making the 8th edition of our Champion Sound Beat Battle another success! Much love to everyone who came out to support us, despite the bad weather. We appreciate you all.

About the battle: everyone delivered heat, but at the end of the ride, there has to be a winner. This year’s Champion is none other than Hazel Halle! Congrats on the well-deserved win!

We would like to thank our jury members DTM Funk, Sofia Rasquin and Benny Bang for doing all the tough decision-making. Shout-out to DVTCH NORRIS for being the best host out there, Big up to our co-hosts OLT Rivierenhof and Trix and their crew for helping us out. Much love to ECHT! for the amazing live performance!

Hi everyone! It’s been a while… we hope you and your loved ones are holding on. The pandemic isn’t over, but we’re finally starting to see light at the end of the tunnel. So how about some good news? We’re back with a brand new edition of our Champion Sound Beat Battle!

Are you a beatmaker/producer who’s up for a challenge? Then join the Preselection Round of our Beat Battle! Our preselection allows you to earn one of the 16 spots for our main event! More info on the date and location soon.

During this competition 16 Belgian beatmakers/producers compete against each other by sampling/remixing a batch of tracks. The participants will play the results battle style in a knock-out tournament. The beats are evaluated round per round by a professional judging panel. The winner of the battle will go home with various software and hardware prizes, studio time, a mastering session, a vinyl release and much more.
