Swipe to see one of the most epic table settings 🥹💕
Story time!
I’m not gonna lie: this table brought me quite some grey hairs during design and prep time 🤓 yet it is one of our biggest accomplishments and even brought me to tears when it was finished (and I’m not a cry-kinda person 🤓🙌🏼).
The message I want to tell here: don’t underestimate the difficulty of trying to arrange something like this in a certain area. Especially Sicily, I think has been one of our biggest challenges so far. I know, you probably think, how difficult can it be to set up a table with some lights and linnen over it, right? Well let me tell you something: 1, try to communicate when there’s a language barrier and the level of urgency and eye for detail is very different 😝. 2, try to explain something with photos, drawings, fabric samples, and having to put your trust in someone that the ex*****on will be done exactly how you explained it. Horror to me! 3, even though Sicily is known for having a very cool style in terms of interiors, pottery etc, Sicilians like to celebrate their own weddings with a lot of bling and silver, in a very classic way. They do not rent anything in that natural style. Handmade plates? Nowhere to be found. I even designed the food stations myself! And 4, we only found 2 parties on the entire island who would do it, of which one the budget was so crazy we could throw another wedding with it. HA! So yeah, we do our best to make it look easy, but behind the scenes of a very styled wedding: a lot of blood, sweat and tears 🤪
That day, each one of our team members had done about 20kms during a 17-hour shift (during Italian summer temperatures). Turns out compared to Sicilians, we are quite organized and structured in our work and want to stick to a time schedule (dah, it’s a wedding) 🤪 which led us to doing most of the work ourselves that day to make sure everything was done well.
But looking back, this was one of the most fun and beautiful wedding weekends we ever did, and the guests were over the moon! And that’s what counts, right?
Did you know what it takes to create something like this, or did you think it was easy?
