“মায়ের গায়ে একটা গন্ধ থাকে ,ঘামে ভেজা
হোক কিংবা কোনো সুগন্ধির হোক-
সুনির্দিষ্ট একটা ঘ্রাণ।
শুধু সন্তানরাই সে গন্ধ পায়।”
আমরা অনেকেই গন্ধ দিয়ে মানুষ চিনি, একটা মানুষের সঙ্গে একটা গন্ধ সেটা সুগন্ধির হোক বা তা নিজের সেটাকে আমরা একাত্ম করে নি, তাকে সেই গন্ধ দিয়েই চিনি; আর মায়ের ক্ষেত্রে সেটা হয় আরো জোরালো।
আমাদের কাছে মা মানে শুধু একটা রক্ত মাংসের অবয়ব না বদলে কিছু প্রশ্ন, কিছু উষ্ণ সমস্যা, কিছু অসম্ভব কষ্টের সময়ে পাওয়া খানিকটা আরাম আর অনেকটা ভালোবাসা সীমাহীন, অর্থহীন, স্বার্থহীন ভালোবাসা।
