Summer in the perennial border. It’s the Echinops time to shine. These globe thistles are insect magnets, it’s nothing to see five or more different species on one flower at a time. Wasps, bees and beetles of all different types . We just need some warmth and sunshine and they will be out in full force.🪰🪲🦟🐝🦋

We have had a wonderful first month of summer.Phlomis samia, Fillipendula, Veronicastrum, Salvia, Monarda, Echinops, Allium, Dahlia, Gaura and Eryngium all putting on a beautiful show

How boring and lifeless it would be if it was all one type of plant.
I’m Celebrating diversity today in all its forms, Culture , People, plants,insects, birds,animals, fungi, fish, amphibians, microbes. This is what makes up this amazing, incomprehensible and wonderful tapestry of life.
