New chryssie cultivars have just been listed on the website including the pictured Kokka Ebino, plus there's been a restock of some favourites. I probably won't have any more Seaton's J'adore or My Love this year but I'll try my best later in the season when I get more plant growth as it warms up.

Fresh mulch feels in this corner of my garden. I've been undertaking a lot of weeding and mulching over the last week and my hands are showing it.

This is only a pocket of my grow space which also encompasses approx. 10m x 2m beds of each of chryssies, roses, hydrangeas, Proteaceae and equivalent to another 4 x 10m x 1m beds of annual growing space. I also have cutting perennials studded across my one acre landscape, many of which are yet to realise full production. This includes a hellebore patch, lilacs, snowball trees, crabapples, magnolia, dogwood, sea holly, Japanese anemones, yarrow, Salvia, Sedum Aquilegia, Spiraea, 20+ tea trees, even more hydrangeas and this list goes on.

You can see the daffodils popping up in the last photo (oh yes I also have a heap of daffodils 😆).

Me and 🐝 have an announcement: my dahlia tuber pre-sale will go live on the website at 6pm on Monday 4th August. Subscribe to my mailing list to be notified directly. (Yes I was going to wait until spring but I changed my mind because there will be too much happening once the spring blooms start).

All tubers will be sent with eyes in spring. I won't reveal the full suite of what will be available but there will be some unique waterlilies in the mix.

And if you're like me you're kinda sick of buying the same cute but unfloriferous (?) and difficult-to-store dahlias and just want robust, strong-performing beauties that you can rely on then this sale is for you. As a micro grower I can't waste space on poor performers and when a florist asks for a certain colourway at a certain time I need to be able to deliver on that (though you know I'll still try to grow the unicorns too).

Until then I'll be busy digging and dividing and trying not to get blown away 🌬🌬🌬

Hey folks...I haven't been on here much lately and just quietly it's been lovely. In deep winter fashion my body and mind are shouting 'rest' but the plant orders say 'get your butt back into the greenhouse and propagate (whilst listening to podcasts and drinking tea)'.

I have a limited number of dahlia cuttings available for pre-order this year - 'Kelgai Ann' has now sold out but I've just listed 'Lileah Caramel Rose' in very limited numbers. Apologies for the sporadic nature of my listings but life gets in the way of the ideal sometimes.

I intend to have a dahlia tuber sale in spring once eyes are showing and I know exactly what I've got. I'll be lifting and dividing at that time. Please subscribe to the mailing list to stay in the loop on that and everything else I'm up to. I'll be sending out my winter newsletter in the coming weeks. Okay so I'm missing the sunshine and the flowers a little bit...and this 'top of 5C' temperature situation is a bit trying. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't searched for Queensland holiday packages this morning.

This happy bouquet was only created mere weeks ago but it kinda feels like a lifetime ago. I must cut back the chryssie patch but the overhead green matter is allowing new growth to come on strong for cutting material so I might just leave it for now.
