1UP Arcade opened its doors on May 13, 2017 with nearly 60 freeplay titles ready to enjoy and plenty of space to expand. With a huge selection of fighters and a growing collection of action games, shooters and racing titles on offer, there's no better value for money than spending all day reliving your childhood favourites.

1UP Arcade focuses on the best arcade games from the 90's era, with some newer and older titles to spice things up. We're talking games like Raiden, Sega Rally, Metal Slug and The Simpsons. We're talking classics like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and Final Fight. Check our website for a full list of our collection and visit us at our NEW LOCATION on the Ground Floor of Laser Force, in Woolloongabba QLD 4102.

The titles keep rolling out, This month sees some killer Shmups hit the floor, ESP Ra. De. follows in the steps of previous Cave titles with more bullets than your eyes can handle and their signature creative scoring mechanics, the protagonists must fight off the infamous Lady Garra, who will stop at nothing to lay waste to and claim control of Tokyo 👾🔫

While our Arcade Wars title this month is Xexex! No matter how you pronounce it this horizontal shmup from Konami shows just how much work their developers were putting in at the time, filled with crazy 3D and sprite effects across all 7 stages and a soundtrack that will be stuck in your head for days! On top of that the innovative cyber te****le whip, Extra lives, faster movement speed and alternate weapons await those who are daring enough to maneuver through the stages and reap the rewards 🚀🕹

Both of these games await you on your next visit to 1UP - which game will you be smashing through first?

Another month goes by and more games hit the floor! Our console cabs have had some new additions with the absolute classic Donkey Kong Country in our SNES side and the fantastic indie title Demons of Asteborg by Neofid Studios for the Mega Drive, a must play for any fans of classic platformers/metroidvanias 👌🔥

X-Men: Children of the Atom makes it's way into one of our VS cabinets, with one of the coolest character rosters of any superhero fighter! ✖️🦸

If you're a fan of cybernetic dragons and loads of bullets, Cyvern: The Dragon Weapons will tick those boxes. A sweet vertical shmup from Kaneko that is not for the faint of heart! 🔥🐉

And the weirdest of the lot is Biomechanical Toy! A Rayman-esque floaty cartoon style platformer by Zeus that sends you into a magical world of evil toys with nothing but a sick pair of shades and your trusty fi***rm to blow them all into oblivion! 🔫🦾

Which game are you keen on playing?? Make sure to get down to 1UP before they're gone!

30 years ago Quake was released on the PC by ID Software. For those who remember, it was the incredibly successful follow up to Doom/Doom 2, and a huge step forward from the pseudo 3D worlds of the Doom games, to a fully 3D generated environment.

An arcade version of the game was in development but never went beyond site tests, with the arcade port abandoned before it was fully finished.

However thanks to the wonders of the internet, the original incomplete arcade port was recovered, and while other multiplayer parts of the game were unfinished, the single player game was complete.

So with a little hacking ourselves to make the game playable for a complete single player mode, plus putting together a custom arcade cabinet+controls for it, we're extremely proud to offer one of the only playable versions of the arcade port in the world.

If you're a Quake fan, or just a fan of the games which spawned modern First Person Shooters, then this is a must to see!
