Desperate times call for wonderful gatherings, and Festival of Small Halls makes it easier by coming to your town.
Canada’s Métis powerhouse, Joe H Henry, and our own stunning Tullara are on the road for the Autumn Tour 2026: Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
Joe and Tullara are travelling to fourteen towns to share stories and songs of life, from growing up on a parrot farm to playing international festivals, from starting as a homeless train-hopping youth to becoming a homesteading father of five.
Fourteen brilliant community hosts have been preparing their Halls: creating imaginative menus from local produce, brewing the tea, arranging the flowers and putting up bunting, ready to welcome you into their town’s heart.
“I'm absolutely stoked to be heading out on tour with the Festival of Small Halls!” says Tullara.
“It is so incredibly exciting to have the opportunity to tour through regional and rural VIC and NSW and to play in these beautiful town halls - which are often the authentic gems and community pride of each town. I can't wait to share my music with new people and communities and to swap stories with all the locals in every town along the way!”
Joe says, “It feels like a moment that I have waited my whole life for – while never knowing it was possible – is about to take place. I'm so very grateful to have the opportunity to make some lifelong memories in such an amazing landscape of amazing people.”
“The Woodstock community hosts the Festival of Small Halls because their Soldiers’ Memorial Hall is more than just a building - it’s the heart of village life. Small country halls across Australia were once the hub for everything from dances to weddings to fundraisers, and the festival helps keep that tradition alive by bringing world-class folk and contemporary musicians to rural communities that might otherwise miss out. For Woodstock, it’s not just about the music – it’s about celebrating community spirit, filling the hall with life and laughter, and reminding everyone how important these historic little halls are in keeping small towns connected. It's about utilising and showcasing a community space to the broader community to ensure these spaces continued to be used.”
