Woodford Folk Festival runs annually from December 27 until January 1. Concerts, dance, indigenous performances, theatre, comedy, film, street performances, visual arts, sustainability forums and so much more comprise a festival for everyone. Join over 100,000 people from all walks of life as we gather in great bars, cafes and restaurants, camping facilities, venues and festival streets for inclusive mirth, art galore, great food, sensational performances and that unique feeling of being part of something terrific. Today, let’s get behind Australian live music!

It’s AusArt Day, Creative Australia’s national day of giving, and Woodfordia is proudly joining the celebration!

Across Australia, little country halls are being brought to life through music. Local artists sharing the stage with remarkable touring musicians, volunteers welcoming neighbors and visitors, communities coming together for nights filled with laughter, stories and connection.

You can see the rippling effect of wonder. Connections deepen, spirits lift, and communities rediscover the merriment of gathering together.

Today, we’re hoping to raise $50,000 to help bring the next four Festival of Small Halls tours to life.

The spirit of Woodford doesn't stop at the festival gates. ❤️

Every December, thousands of people make their way to Woodfordia to share in the magic of live music, storytelling, creativity and human connection.

But what about the communities who can't make the journey to us?

That's where our beautiful Festival of Small Halls Australia comes in.

Throughout the year, we take a little of the Woodford spirit on the road, bringing extraordinary Australian and international artists into community halls across regional and remote Australia.

In places where live music can be rare, these gatherings mean so much more than a night of entertainment.

They're a chance to reconnect, lift spirits, share stories and remind people that they belong. For communities facing isolation, drought, floods and the challenges of life in the bush, that sense of connection can make a world of difference.

Today is Creative Australia's AusArt Day, a national day of giving to support Australian arts and artists.

We're hoping to raise $50,000 to help bring the next four Festival of Small Halls tours to life, reaching around 3,000 people across regional communities, while creating meaningful opportunities for touring artists and local performers.

Because everyone deserves to experience the joy of live music, no matter where they live.

They arrived with their music, but they left with so much more.
For musician Georgia Mooney, touring with Festival of Small Halls was an experience unlike any other.

Each night brought a different town, a different hall and a community ready to welcome the musicians. Homemade cakes, barbecues, playful conversations and cozy embraces, the kind of warmth and hospitality that makes strangers feel like old friends.

But for Georgia, witnessing people from different backgrounds and generations coming together, caring for one another and sharing the simple joy of live music, is what has stayed with her the most. In her words,
“In all my music career, this tour provided the most clear proof of the value of live music.”
This is what Festival of Small Halls brings into the world.
