One of the things I love about being a celebrant is the opportunity to connect with people. Not just the couples and families I work with, but also the wonderful celebrants and industry professionals who share their knowledge, ideas and experience along the way.

Networking is about learning from one another, staying up to date, sharing inspiration and building relationships that ultimately benefit the people we serve. Those connections can help us create more personal ceremonies, discover meaningful ways to honour traditions and connect clients with trusted professionals when they need a little extra support.

What if there is no funeral? Can there still be a meaningful goodbye? ...... Absolutely!

A memorial service can give family and friends the opportunity to come together, tell stories, listen to favourite music, share photographs and memories, and celebrate the person they loved.
And it doesn't have to look like a traditional funeral.

As a celebrant, I can help families think creatively about the ceremony, the location and the way the person's story is shared.
My role combines storytelling, public speaking, event coordination, creativity and attention to detail — because sometimes creating the right farewell means thinking outside the box.

❤️ Sometimes love has been there all along… you just have to find your way back to it.

Hediye and Blake first crossed paths at primary school, then years later recognised each other on Tinder. One date was all it took to realise something special was there. And surrounded by their Turkish, Lebanese, Australian and Greek families, they said “I do”! 💍

Their wedding may have been a small, intimate and simple legal ceremony, but the commitment they made to each other was anything but simple.

It was an absolute privilege to be their Sydney Marriage Celebrant and to help them begin this next chapter of their story. Wishing Hediye & Blake a lifetime of love, laughter, adventures and happiness together. 🥂❤️

Life is made up of beautiful milestones.

💛 A new baby. 💛 A first birthday. 💛 Graduations. 💛 Engagements. 💛 Weddings. 💛 Anniversaries. 💛 Grandchildren.

We celebrate these moments with joy and excitement. But what about the final chapter?

Talking about ageing, end-of-life wishes and funerals isn't about being morbid—it's about giving our loved ones the gift of knowing what matters most to us.

Funeral Connect

One of the most meaningful afternoons I've spent recently wasn't at a funeral—it was sitting around a dining table with a wonderful woman who wanted to record her wishes for her own farewell.

Together we talked about the music she loved, the poems that spoke to her heart, the people she wanted involved, and the legacy she hoped to leave.

When we finished, she simply smiled and said she felt lighter.
Planning your funeral isn't about expecting the worst. It's about giving your family the priceless gift of knowing exactly what mattered to you, so they aren't left guessing during one of the hardest times of their lives.

As a celebrant, I believe meeting someone while they're still living creates a far more personal and meaningful farewell.

We never met in person until the morning of the funeral.
Everything was planned through phone calls, emails and shared memories.

Together, this beautiful family and I created a heartfelt farewell for their much-loved 90-year-old father—one that reflected his personality, his values and the life he had lived.

One of the greatest privileges of being a celebrant is discovering who someone was through the eyes of those who loved them most. When families trust me with their stories, we can create something truly special.

One of their comments afterwards touched me deeply: "Nicki felt more like a member of our family than a service provider." There is no greater compliment! Thank you for trusting me to help honour such a remarkable life. ❤️

Every family has a story to tell, and every life deserves to be celebrated with warmth, dignity and authenticity.

✨ Bringing two beautiful cultures together ✨

Recently I had the privilege of creating a personalised wedding ceremony that honoured both Jewish and Croatian traditions while celebrating the unique love story of an amazing couple.

From incorporating family blessings and cultural customs, to helping write their vows, designing custom vow cards and hosting their rehearsal, every detail was thoughtfully planned to ensure the day reflected who they are and what matters most to them.

The result was a heartfelt ceremony filled with love, laughter, family and tradition ❤️
