Beauty & The Beast. 🌹
My first community theatre costume project & it was a big one!
It started last year when asked me to make her yellow gown for her lead role of Belle.
Then it grew dramatically!
With my daughter in the cast as a Silly girl & Dance captain & then progressing to Co-choreographer halfway through, I said yes to working alongside & her creative brain to design, collate & make over 200 costumes for this epic show.
Five months of work later & this is the end result.
We’re very proud of the work we did & the visions all coming to life on stage guided by the fabulous Director
What I didn’t expect was so much joy & love doing this project. The cast are genuinely some of the most beautiful, talented & kind people I’ve ever met & I can now see how addictive this could become!
Our costumes were bought to life with incredible wigs by & her fabulous team.
Callie & I also couldn’t have completed this project without our amazing wardrobe team-Sue Stevens, Amanda Jamal, Heather Dillon, Leeanne Gregory, Lizette Anderson, Will Fry, Pat Eastwood, Terri Powell, Laura Freeman, Jorja McKinnon, Kelly Pettingill, Bridie Patrick, Marley Fry, Willow Fry & Narelle Hose.

To Stu-the most patient husband ever. Got roped into set pick up, set painting, set construction, pack down & bump out & did lots of drives to the theatre when we forgot things-which was a few times! Also ended up on electrician duties-re-wiring Lumiere lights & doing maintenance on the closing weekend.
Thankyou for trusting us completely with our ideas & creations. And thankyou to the committee & prod team for awarding Callie & I the Lyric ‘Cyril Award’ for a prod team member (in our case members!) who goes above & beyond what was required.
