I’ve always said I’d share both the highlights and the harder moments of running a small business.

Today was the first day of our VIDA Open Weekend. A huge thank you to the wonderful new couple who came through our doors, and to the couples already booked with us who stopped by it was genuinely lovely to see you and share the space together.

If I’m honest, though, today was also a tough one.

After months of planning, countless hours of preparation, styling, organising, and refining every little detail to create something special, it’s hard when the day doesn’t quite unfold the way you hoped. Running a small business can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be exhausting, and today left me feeling a little tired and disappointed.

That said, this is all part of the journey.

For now, I’m heading home to spend some time with my family, recharge, and remind myself why we started VIDA in the first place.

Tomorrow is a new day, a fresh opportunity, and our doors will be open again. If you’ve been meaning to come and have a look around, we’d absolutely love to welcome you.

At VIDA, we never see weddings as “just another event” 🤍

Every couple walks in with a different story, different people they love, and different moments that matter to them. We take the time to understand that, because the little details are usually the ones you remember forever.

Maddy & Tim’s wedding was filled with those moments — from family watching live from the US, to the handmade moon arbour built by one of their friends, to creating custom non-alcoholic drinks that felt personal to them and their day.

One of our favourite parts of Maddy’s reflection was this:

“It felt less like we were working with a stranger and more like a friend we had known for ages and was super invested in our relationship too.”
