I want to take a moment to appreciate the glory that is The Green Cathedral! I have married a number of couples here now and it is such a unique space to get married. Surrounded by the palms and the tall gum trees, right on the water's edge, with the sand under your toes, you are surrounded by the elements as you say your I do's! This photo was taken at Jessica and Jesse's ceremony, a favourite I will always remember.

WARNING: side effects of a first look may include tears, gasps, and forgetting how to breathe for a second. But oh so worth it!!! I'm all for a first look if it means your nerves won't be running so high down the aisle, or perhaps the goal is to get some photos with the groom pre ceremony so you can enjoy canape hour with your guests! Whatever your reason, it's a precious moment just for the two of you (and your lurking photographer of course!).

The forecast said 80% chance of rain… but we had 110% chance of still having the best day ever. Jade and Zac pre -warned me "even if it's raining we're going ahead outside!". It wasn't my first ceremony in the rain and I'm quite sure it won't be my last. But the way they embraced it was truly something else!!

When I dip, you dip, we dip!
Planning on doing a doing a dip kiss during your ceremony? I can't stress this enough, practice it!!! I've seen many dip kisses gone wrong, and it's not the end of the world of course, everyone has a little giggle and we carry on. But if you want a show stopping moment like Jade and Matt's wedding pictured here, then definitely try it out a few times in your living room. And also take into consideration that the dress and flowers in hand will make things slightly harder. If you manage to nail it, you'll get a cracking photo like this one!

One of the things I love about living in Valentine, is the variety I get to experience from the surrounding areas. Most of my weddings are in the hunter valley, which is beautiful. But then I get to have days where we get to celebrate on the soft waters edge of Lake Macquarie. This beautiful photo was taken by of Isabella and Nathan at the gorgeous 🤍

Kids or no kids at the wedding? Honestly, there’s no right or wrong. Some couples want a wild dance floor without a bedtime, others can’t imagine the day without their favourite little people there. Either way, it's your wedding, your rules. And you shouldn't be guilted into deciding any differently.
