Weddings happen for various reasons. Often just 2 people in love, wanting to continue their lives together..

Jess and Ash have been an incredible team for 19 years, they are wonderful people with 2 gourgeous young kids. With a devastating diagnosis, family and friends rallied to pull off the most beautiful wedding.

It will never not be a complete privilege to be asked to lead someone's final farewell. This week we put the fun in funeral (complete with party bags, decorations and balloons) while simultaneously creating a sincere and fitting farewell for a fabulous human I only briefly met at a wedding I conducted last year.

N was 46 when she was diagnosed with cancer and she fought it for over 3 years. N hated lentils, cucumbers, calling her partner 'wife' and being boring. She loved travel, teaching, adventure, fun, her partner P and their kids... P and N shared 28 years together, but I can't help but wish they had longer...

Incredibly, 2 days before the send off, her partner found a video; N had pre recorded her own eulogy - and it was brilliant! Not many deceadants read out their own eulogy, let alone in fancy dress!

So, I want to thank her family for trusting me with such a big day. Many people will have more than one wedding but nearly everyone I know (with the exception of my Uncle Gary) only have 1 funeral.

Rest easy N... P and the fam have got it from here

This was a first for me!

12 years ago I performed a beautiful wedding for Sharon (blue/pink dress) and Pete (pink shirt) we have always kept in touch. On Saturday I had the honor of officiating their daughter's wedding, Tahlia, to the lovely Rob.

It was a true honour to conduct my Grandma's funeral service. She was a beautiful soul.
I don't do what I do for praise but it's still nice to receive.

I'm not sure I will ever get used to being entrusted to conduct a funeral. I hope I dont because leading the service to farewell someone's dearest love is such an honour and a privelege.
Today was just that. We said farewell to a true gentleman. The love Nooung and his wife Lee shared, the pride he had for his family. It was truly beautiful.
They'll see you again in the dreamtime mate xx
