A new feature lets users connect to Starlink for satellite-based texting.
Apple has made a groundbreaking move by partnering with SpaceX and T-Mobile to integrate Starlink satellite connectivity into iPhones via the iOS 18.3 update.
This unexpected collaboration introduces an alternative to Apple’s existing Globalstar-powered satellite service, providing users with enhanced connectivity in areas without cellular coverage. Early beta testers have already begun using the feature, which currently supports texting but is expected to expand to include images, music, and even video in future updates.
Users can manage the new satellite function through a dedicated toggle in their cellular settings, making it a seamless addition to iPhone capabilities.
