✨ Important Update for Our Pop Fest Family ✨

Due to a number of factors, Hone Events has made the decision to adjust how we run our events moving forward.

From now on, we will be alternating each year between Townsville Pop Fest and the Townsville Medieval & Fantasy Festival. This means:
⚔️ August 2026 – Townsville Medieval & Fantasy Festival
🎉 June 2027 – The Return of Townsville Pop Fest

Community events like ours only happen because of YOU, our passionate fans and supporters! Please continue to support local festivals and keep the dream of community events alive here in the North!

In the meantime, you can continue supporting Pop Fest by:

Good Morning Townsville,

It has come to our attention that we have been mentioned in today’s paper.

First off, we send our biggest thanks to Councillor Robinson. For anyone who has attended one of our events, you will recognise this man as an amazing advocate of community events. We thank him and the other Councillors who fought on behalf of us and others like us.

Secondly, while this decision from the council is upsetting, there is a much larger issue at heart and that is the lack of venues in Townsville that can host events like ours. While our current event in four weeks is ready and rearing to go, our 2026 event still doesn’t have a home. We stand with our fellow community events in asking the council to do more so that we don’t NEED these grants. Smaller groups cannot cover the exorbitant cost of venues like the TECC and the Civic Theatre and these costs need to be subsidized properly for local community groups. Lowering the bar of entry will do a lot more to help these groups become self sufficient, and will save the Council in the long run.

One last point directed at Councillor Batkovic. As you may or may not be aware, as a group who has researched and applied for state and federal grants as you suggested people do. MAJORITY of these grants require you to have local support and funding for years first before they will even look at your applications. Just thought you should know.

Yesterday, 3/4 of the Hone Events Team departed on a family holiday! 🎉

We have returned to our inbox!!!!
Apologies for any requests missed over the last few days. As you know we are based in Townsville and have just gone through a cyclone. Some of our team have been without power, some are still without power. We thank the community for their understanding and remind everyone to stay kind during these times. ❤❤
A huge thank you to every single person on the ground from Ergon Energy Network for all you have done and continue to do to get us back up and running and thank you to the Townsville Disaster Information page for keeping us updated during the cyclone.

Remember it may take a while for some businesses to get completely back on their feet so be patient, be kind and remember we are a community who supports who another. ❤👍

Things you need to know:
Doors will open at 6pm, and questions will start at 6:30pm
Teams can be up to 8 people - we strongly recommend you book all your tickets at once to avoid missing out.
There is plenty of parking at the venue - either right outside, or at the Dean St Carpark, which is very close by.
There will be a bar open on the night.
For food, you can bring your own snacks.

Please organise your team before booking your tickets as there will be NO randomly assigned teams on the night.
Ticket holders will be emailed to get names of their team and teammates to ensure tables are assigned correctly.
Teams are a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8.
