Mikaela & Clayten ☀️ ❤️ 🏕️ 🐶

From the get go, these two had their day ✨ sorted ✨
They knew exactly what they wanted, and the fabulous and really delivered with a charming family farm style set up - think lots of natural tones and wood - spot on for the location.

Driving into Glenbridge over the loveliest little lit up bridge, you’re hit with lush lawns, gardens and curious animals. You feel welcome, warm and surrounded by magic views of the surrounding country, especially at the top of the hill, where you’re spoilt for ceremony spot locations.

We all saw - and felt - the storms rolling around the area! I reckon we experienced a myriad of weather styles up on the hill on this day!!

Mikaela & Clayten are at home around these parts - this is their local stomping ground. They’re always off adventuring in the great outdoors. But today Clayten swapped out his work boots for fancy boots, and the bridal impala made it up said hill delivering total babe Mikaela and her (also babes) bridesmaids for a short and sweet ceremony that meant the whole crew could get back down to the thoughtful set up in the reception shed and continue the relaxed and fun vibes with 🎸

It felt like just about everyone knew each other - guests and staff alike! Which fits the Glenbridge vibe perfectly, really.

Love to see Cas make her 📸 magic for Clayten & Mikaela. Her excitement at the views on offer was contagious! She captures them beautifully. This is her local stomping ground, too.

Happy honeymooning up north & swimming and relaxing I hope. Sending you lots of sun, and far less wind 😬 xx

My daughter had homework: to interview a family member about our family celebrating a special occasion.

She chose to interview her grandma about aunty Elle’s & uncle Alex’s wedding.
This arvo, she went over to interview grandma in person and get a photo of our family from the day.

I love what she wrote about love, family and weddings - at the wonderful, innocent, observant, discerning age of 8.
Kids get it.

Happy anniversary, aunty Elle & uncle Alex

Not many couples can say they met the way Leanne & Neil did. There wasn’t candlelight or jazz music… just a pr*****ed cow, and a couple of arms elbow-deep in bovine business.

Romance, right?

(This was the very first story they told me within minutes of us meeting, and I knew this was going to be a riot of a wedding.)

But somehow, through all that chaos, something stuck.

Maybe it was Neil’s unshakeable calm or Leanne’s unflappable sense of humour. Or maybe, deep down, they both just knew… anyone who can get through that together, belongs together.

Neil & Leanne were married at their friend’s Des & Dee’s stunning property near Allora, surrounded by the friendliest, most helpful and hospitable group of loved ones you could imagine.

Everyone pitched in and made cakes, cooked food, set up and helped out to make it a beautiful and memorable day for these two, part of the heart and soul of the local cattle crew. We also celebrated multiple family birthdays. So, there were multiple excellent cakes!

I reckon Des & Dee could absolutely run weddings at their place! I am aware it’s not an easy slog, but they had a /SET UP/ people would love.

I was sent on my merry way afterwards with the most delicious loaded snack cup from Dee and good feelings galore, as the newlyweds and birthday boys settled in for a great night celebrating under the stars.

Next day love text from my Lauren & Aiden!

Can’t see for tears. 🥹 I bloody love this job.

I took very few photos as I was both celebrant & MC for these two yesterday. I was too busy gadding about having a blast with them and their boisterous guests.

We nearly got torrentially shat on by a giant ibis, there was a giant PHOTO RUSH that had everyone cakking, a video of Lauren burying a raw sausage in the dirt the night before to keep the rain at bay, about 692 couple kisses just during the ceremony, Lauren literally bolting down the aisle into Aiden’s arms, gigantic shots of vodka, a hilarious and heartfelt open mic moment, and Lauren’s aunty Kim showed Toowoomba how to barefoot nutbush. (She once helped set a world record for nutbushing, so I feel she is a supreme authority on miss Tina Turner.)

These two newlyweds are off to Japan & Hong Kong momentarily for their honeymoon of epic proportions. Japan was where they got engaged, after Aiden managed to keep Lauren still for 28 seconds on a boat in the middle of a pond. That ring survived days of trekking about, theme park rides, and late night ramen runs.

So grateful to be part of their contagious brand of fun 🤩 also saving their excellent wedding music playlists to my Spotify as we speak.

My 8yo daughter took this photo of me. She was sitting across from me while I was working.

She does this a fair bit actually. Sometimes I cringe at myself. But I’ve grown to love it because she took them. (Alongside this photo, she saved 14 selfies of herself baring her gap-toothed grin in all its beauty.)

People ask me a lot: ‘do you cry at weddings?! How do you hold it in during?!’

The answer is, I do ALOT of crying.

While I prepare for your wedding.
Writing something I hope you’ll love.
Looking at your photos.
Reading things you’ve sent me.
Reading your posts.
Listening to your song choices.
Watching you prepare.
Listening to your plans.
Seeing snips of your life.
Hearing all about your excitement / nerves / anticipation / love.

Not pictured: obligatory ‘car cry’ after your ceremony on my way home. Sometimes accompanied by a quick rip through the Maccas drive through for a celebratory choccie shake.

I love this job. 🥲

Today is my wedding anniversary.

We’ve been married so long, I’m at the stage where I look through my treasured photos and miss more and more people every year.

Forever grateful that we asked the thoughtful and talented to make photos for us. Kath instinctively knew what we’d want to look back on, and managed to capture these people we love so beautifully.

From my little spot up there with couples on their days, I see photographers doing the absolute MOST to capture not only your love, but also the reflection of it in your people.

Having these people altogether was more important than anyone could have told me at the time.

P.S. pls scroll for a photo of back when she was a wee baby celebrant. Another MVP we were lucky to have up there with us. To this day her socials are one of my favourites to peruse, and she’s a huge part of the reason I eventually became a celebrant myself…)

I’m putting this darling heart on the grid!

We have shared so many beautiful clients, and many bts chats, but never ever actually met til we crossed paths working with our bride Katherine recently 🤍

I’ve seen wedding day makeup put through its absolute PACES from my privileged POV up there with a couple.

It gets pummelled by uncontrollable sobbing tears, dabbed and wiped through with tissues, kissed on, sweated through in sweltering heat, poured on with cyclonic rain, even frosted in freezing cold sleet and blistering winds…but I can safely say, Mish’s work has always stayed put n’ pretty through it all.

To this day, she’s done my favourite ever jelly lip (on )

Can confirm: She’s this dang cute IRL, too.

Pls continue to book us together so we may cross paths again? Thanks ☺️ 🤍

Stephen & Katherine ✨ 16.08.25

Can we take a moment to bask in the look of absolute pride on Stephen’s face here, as he stands beside Katherine, freshly married?!

A love story that crosses continents and oceans, overcoming time and distance. A first date full of showing one another pictures to combat language barriers?
Resourceful. Hilarious.

Katherine’s mum made it all the way to Toowoomba from her home in Colombia to walk her daughter down the aisle, and Stephen’s grandfather John shared his faith and wisdom through prayers and blessings during the ceremony.

Katherine’s Colombian mates were cheeky - each and every one of them outrageously good looking of course 🔥 and Stephen’s family were excitedly sharing plans to visit Katherine’s hometown in the next year for more wedding celebrations! 💃🏻

Add in a golden winters afternoon on the Gip’s lawns, a set of vows that had tears flowing, (Katherine’s way with words is extraordinary!) and the backdrop of the romantic and historic and we have Stephen & Katherine’s day 🥰

I’d like to thank Katherine for teaching me the word ‘chismosito’ - this describes hers and Stephen’s favourite pastime…It’s a cheeky Spanish word for ‘gossip’ 🤣 loved spending time with you both, discovering a shared love of stories and runsheets.

Thanks also to the exemplary you offer such an ethereal, romantic, unique and thoughtful experience for your couples. We’re lucky to have Gip’s here in Toowoomba✨ 🌳

I am not surprised to find out that out my lovely recent bride Kelsey also has lovely family!

Kelsey had many members of her family play a big role in her marriage to Baker, held at the glorious Gabbinbar. We celebrated the families rich Scottish history, as Kelsey & Baker took their place in the story together.

Kelsey’s aunt Tracey took the time to send me this message after 🥰

I am constantly fascinated by the stories I hear. Family histories tracing bloodlines back to Scottish Kings, finding out you have a celebrity as a godparent, or a serendipitous meet-cute on a farm, helping a labouring cow deliver a calf.

Stories about the people we love are the best kind. I promise, we all wanna hear them. Over and over again.

I know.
This photo is not wedding related. In fact, I pinched it from a friend. Screenshotted it straight off her stories.

Funnily enough, I can still can be found holding a mic in other parts of my life.

Toowoomba is DELICIOUSLY, DREADFULLY, DELIGHTFULLY COLD at this time of the year.

Alas, weddings do tend to slow down a little around these parts, what with the frigid temps and blustery icy wind. Sleet is sometimes involved, too.

Weather chat aside…

I took a hold of this time between wedding seasons to rip into some creative projects, wrote some stuff, completed some classes, met and worked with some cool people…and I am feeling extremely fulfilled and ready for the second half of 2025 weddings.

Springtime is BRISTLING with beautiful couples, and locations I am very excited to loiter in.

In other news, I have just ordered a fresh new 2026 diary from which I am eager to inhale when it arrives in the mail. (Any other stationery sniffers out there?!)

This is the official sign that 2026 must be OPEN for bookings!

Full transparency - I’ve already locked in a bunch of wonderful 2026 couples 😍

So! If you’re a 2026 marriee looking for a marrier to marry you to your mate — maybe mosey my merry way.

I promise I’ll never use this much alliteration ever again. Unless you want me to…. 😬

Ahh my Jess & my Josh - 24.5.25 ⚡️ 👗 💕

At the down to earth and fun

Jess & Josh are real, hard working, genuine, fun, gorgeous people who draw a gigantic crowd of lovely, welcoming, hilarious people around them. Recipe for fun times wedding! 🤘🏻 🩷

They included the perfect amount of fandom into their wedding day decor, from Disney book page confetti cups to sorting their guests into Hogwarts houses for the reception! (Man I wanted to stay and insert myself onto the Ravenclaw table) it was so lovely to spot guests admiring all the special touches!

They also had a Nollsy v Guy Sebastian guest poll to select their final song of the night, and a John Farnham song - 2 Strong Hearts 💪🏻- for their aisle walk. I can’t explain how emotional these superior song choices make a crowd.

I try hard every wedding to keep my emotions in check so that I can deliver your ceremony without a side of blubbering mess. But when Jess had a secret voice message play for Josh over the speaker just before she came down the aisle to meet him, I made the mistake of looking at her bridesmaids faces and I went full messy Jessy.

Pulled it together so that Jess & Josh could smile and laugh their way through their ceremony. And also a little bit more crying.

Developed hardcore lady crushes on .studio on this wonderful day. SUCH DELIGHTFUL PHOTO MAKERS.

How I loved sitting around your kitchen table laughing into the night and swapping fandom obsessions with you, Jess & Josh. You’re my kinda ppl. Will never forget Josh telling me he ‘wanted to make it the perfect day for Jess’

And that they surely did.
