💍 It’s “Official” once you repeat your Legal Vows (Not When You Sign!) ✨

Lately, a few of my couples have “jokingly” said to the other - “It’s not legal until we sign,” but here’s a fun fact: once you say your legal vows, you are officially married! 😉

The signing of the certificates (while still an important legal step) is more of a formality that takes place at the of your ceremony.

Another fun fact: Don’t believe what you see in the movies 🍿

“I Do” does NOT make you married nor does being asked by your Celebrant to provide a YES or NO answer.

To ensure the validity of your marriage, you must repeat after me the following words...

I call upon the people here physically present…
To witness that I…(Party 1)…
Take you (Party 2)…
To be my lawful wedded (husband/wife/spouse/partner/partner in marriage).

You can of course still say “I Do” after this, by choosing from one of my suggested examples, followed by your own personal vows.

Behind the scenes, there’s a lot more to the legal process than meets the eye. As your Celebrant, I handle everything - explaining, preparing, and correctly lodging all legal documents, ensuring every detail is in place. 📋 And yes, this is required by law! You can trust that I’ve got it all covered, from paperwork to the perfect pronunciation of names during your ceremony. 🎤

When you book me, you can relax knowing that everything is not only beautifully planned but also legally sound, so you can focus on enjoying every magical moment of your day. ❤️

✨ It’s your moment, not mine. That’s why you’ll often see me gracefully stepping to the side throughout the ceremony, so all the focus is on you and the photos capture just the two of you. All you need to do is be present, soak in the moment, glance at your loved ones, and listen to the words I’ve carefully crafted just for you. 💍✨

Oh, and yes, I do love to colour-coordinate with the bridesmaids, flowers, and surroundings. This dress is one of my faves from Piper - the perfect outfit for a bush setting like Walkabout Creek. 🌿💚

25 years ago this December, my husband & I eloped to Italy to get married 🥰
