Our Story
The Australian Alpine Ascent (AAA) Festival is a festival of events event specifically designed to be the world’s most gruelling set of single day challenges held within daylight hours.
This new world class location will test even the toughest of competitors and those willing to take the challenge, “into thin air”.
From the initial swim locations of either Lake Crackenback or Lake Jindabyne (both at altitude) you will transition onto the cycle which will see you reach heights up to 1964m before throwing on your shoes for a run which will be a combination of road and trail tracks.
You’ll cross through locations like Dead Horse Gap, Smiggen Holes, Charlottes Pass, and the Thredbo Village Green; it’s brutal, but it’s beautiful and the courses have been designed to showcase the very best of the Snowy Mountains along the way.
2018 will feature 2 new tough additions to this “tough festival with a 25k and 50k trail run that will see athletes Summit Austrialia’s highest peak. Mount Kosciuszko.
This Festival will become the Southern Hemispheres benchmark event, testing speed, stamina and strength and is expected to draw a world-class group of endurance athletes set to take on new heights Down Under.
