Happy anniversary to a couple of very beautiful humans. What an absolute privilege it was for me to have been your celebrant. What a true pleasure and blessing it is for me to now call you my friends.
To paraphrase: May the Gods and Goddesses grant you the wisdom to see each other as you are; to love each other as a mystery. May you grow old and wise together.
Lots of love to you both β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ

A table for the gods; feasting, mead and merriment; our names in runes. Celebrating and sharing in the joy of a truly beautiful couple who started out as clients and became very dear friends. Thank you Alison and Mitchell for making me a part of this most wonderful moment.
May the gods always smile upon you with grace β€οΈπ

Minor Swing-ing it with the far-too-awesome Byron Mark and the boys. Thank you so much for style, rhythm and grooviness to our special day β€οΈ ππΆπ΅πΆπ΅

I've been waking around all this week feeling loved up and a bit giddy. I always feel very blessed to have such lovely clients (who then become friends), but this wedding had me flying so high that it has literally taken me days to write about it!
A proper Viking ceremony. I could write volumes about how beautiful and powerful the traditions are, but I would prefer to talk about how absolutely wonderful my couple are. I was completely enveloped in their warmth, their hospitality and generosity; and I am so blessed by their friendship.

I hear you want to have a beach wedding in Sydney.
Iβm frequently asked by clients to recommend good beach locations for an intimate ceremony. That part is easy; Sydney has many lovely and relatively private beach locations for a wedding. Some of my personal favourites are Shelley Beach, just past Manly Beach, and Little Bay, in the Eastern Suburbs. Both quite lovely and offer a stunning backdrop for any wedding ceremony.
What I find myself advising clients, however, is to consider all the more mundane practical issues associated with a beach wedding; how close can your guests park? How far do they have to walk to get to the ceremony spot? Will older guests have difficulty accessing the location? Will you have your reception close by or at the same venue? Whatβs your Plan B if the weather turns bad?
As I tell my clients when I suggest some locations for beach weddings, go and check out your intended venue and look at it from the perspective of your guests. Scrutinise the location without your love spectacles on, and see if it is practical as well as beautiful β¦.. and then go ahead and pick your favourite spot and let me know. We can iron out all the little details during the rehearsal.

All this energy wasted trying to work out 'what women want'.
Concentrate on the woman you love.
Look at the circumstances of her life and
be what she NEEDS.

Sure I have to work on weekends, but I get to hang out in some lovely places, with some very snazzy looking people; and everyone always dresses up for me ππβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ

I frequently hear people say "we don't celebrate Valentine's Day because we love each other every day"
That's like saying we don't celebrate Christmas because we eat with the family every day.
So sure, don't buy into the commercial side of it. Don't spend lots of money. Don't express fake, insincere sentiment.
Instead, just use this day as an excuse, an occasion, to show your loved one a little extra special attention. Even a small gesture can make your beloved happy .. and isn't it all about that?!
Carpe diem people! Show your LOVE β€οΈ

I am such a pushover for tradition, culture and ceremony. These things adorn life and make it beautiful. Just because you're having a civil ceremony doesn't mean that you have to leave these things aside or go without them. Really value and capitalise on the beautiful things that your background has to offer. It is the thread that links you to your past generations and your future ones β€οΈπ
