Last week, Andy and Wesley fine-tuned the Captain’s mic at Solaré to make sure announcements are always loud and clear. The mic needs to cut through the music at all times, especially for emergencies.

We installed a Void Acoustics sound system onboard and programmed the audio processor with gates and duckers so background noise stays out, and the music automatically turns off the moment the mic is switched on and the captain starts talking. Once the announcement is done, the music fades back in smoothly over four seconds so it’s never jarring for customers.

The system is fully independent, needing only the mic’s on/off button to operate. With UPS backup on all processors and amplifiers, announcements will still work even if the venue’s network or power goes down. Solaré is set to sail this spring with next-level sound.

From a plain band room to a sold-out rodeo party for 800 students. UTS Underground was completely transformed for Winterfest. We worked closely with UTS to bring their vision to life, using truss structures and towers, Astera tubes, truss DJ cubes, a truss arch, battery parcans, strobes, mirror balls, staging, and more to create an immersive, high-energy space.

A huge thank you to Dave for managing the project, Yasmin, Tee, and the team at UTS Activate for trusting us with this awesome and successful event.

This Friday we’re teaming up with People’s Party and Oxford Art Factory for an intimate night of lights and staging. We’ve got some hurdles to tackle such as a band before the party, a 360 boiler room–style stage, and some slick laser bars in the mix.

People's Party always brings that house-party energy to every room, and we can’t wait to help set the scene.
