We’re thrilled to be hosting the Newcastle Chamber Choir at the Conservatorium for their regional tour concert Winter Song – right here in our very own Chapel Theatre on Sunday, 20 July at 2 pm!

With multiple international gold medals and national choral titles to their name, this is a rare opportunity to hear one of Australia’s finest choirs perform live. Expect an inspiring blend of Australian and international works, from hauntingly beautiful harmonies to thrilling rhythmic energy.

We are thrilled to announce that Roz Pappalardo has been appointed as the new Manager Entertainment Venues and will start in the role on 7 April 2025.

Roz brings with her a wealth of experience in arts and cultural leadership, the benefits of a career spanning more than two decades and encompassing practice in major venue and Festival management, event programming, creative production, touring, and original content development. With a reputation for transforming major entertainment venues into thriving cultural hubs across Australia, Pappalardo comes to Tamworth via Darwin Entertainment Centre, Hobart’s MONA and MONA FOMA Summer Festival, and Cairns Regional Council.

Her resumé is filled with stories of success through perseverance and creative thinking, which have provided her with a strong understanding of the perspectives of performer, cultural producer, venue, and audience.

Also an accomplished musician, songwriter and theatre maker, Pappalardo’s performance repertoire includes a solo catalogue, as well as albums with alt-country act Lontano, and folk duo, Women In Docs. She’s created numerous original theatre pieces, including Rosa, Banging on the Door, and beloved retro hit show All Fired Up.

From the business side of the stage, Pappalardo’s track record is impressive. She was a driving force behind the emergence of Cairns as a leading contemporary music touring destination, through vibrant programming at Cairns Performing Arts Centre, the Court House Gallery and Tanks Arts Centre. At the same time, her influence over the trajectory of Cairns Festival saw audiences more than double, on the strength of which she went on to found the Cairns Children’s Festival.

Roz takes over the position from Peter Ross after 16 and half years at the helm of the Capitol Theatre and the other venues that make up Entertainment Venues here in Tamworth. Peter has moved onto a new role as Executive Manager of Creative Communities & Experience at Tamworth Regional Council and will oversee Entertainment Venues and work closely with Roz on creative projects.
