That's a wrap for 2025 and for The Barefoot Betties. As most of you know, we have been trying to retire for a couple of years now, but there is always "Just one more." We have had more farewells than Johnny Farnam, but the time has now come.
I was privileged to have my last show at the fantastic Bendemeer Hotel, back where it really all began for us. I say this because Justine will be out there killing it with her amazing Jazz and Blues future, and I can not wait to cheer her on through every show. For me, this is it, due to some significant health reasons I will retire from performing. I had 1 last show to see if I could modify our show in a way that I could continue to perform, but this is just not possible without taking away from the experience for the crowd. It's hard to sit and dance on a bar stool sober after all, lol, who'd have thunk it, lol. It has been my absolute pleasure to share many nights of laughter and songs with thousands of people over the last 15 years, actually, my whole life I have sung to countless people dining at the many pubs and clubs I have worked in as the Singing Cheff, and Jukebox barmaid back when you could call us that. The world is changing, and so am I, but I wish you all the absolute best New Years and that 2026 is kind to you all. with love and gratitude for the years of support and kindness shown to me and us at our shows and for the loveable kind human who became my soul sister through our mutual love of music. Thank you Betty, now you take the mic and sore high. I can't wait to see you shine. xx
