SUNDAY SIMPLE SUGGESTIONS: ATTENTION EVENT VENDORS, VENUE OPERATORS, AND ALL OTHERS WITHIN THE EVENTS INDUSTRY..When collaborating with others in the events industry, it is essential to maintain a respectful and cohesive working relationship, especially when shared goals are in sight.. Unfortunately, some individuals in venue spaces may not be accommodating or flexible, instead choosing to exert power over others..Merely by choice just bc they're on a power trip..Similarly, some stylists may approach collaborations with a competitive mindset (not sure why bc there's work for everyone depending on if you really want it or not), which can be highly unappealing and honestly lacking class .. Furthermore, venue operators who adopt a condescending tone can be particularly challenging to work with..In such cases, it is crucial to prioritise professionalism and maintain a positive reputation.. WHY?? Bc word of mouth recommendations can significantly impact a venue's reputation, and I would not hesitate to advise clients to avoid venues with unprofessional staff.. The moral of the story from these experiences is the importance of kindness, empathy, and respect in the workplace.. These values are essential, not only because they are cost free but also because they foster a positive and productive work environment for all.. While I have not encountered this personally, I have regrettably witnessed it with my own eyes..Thus, it is crucial for people to treat one another with kindness and dignity, just as they would wish to be treated themselves...

To achieve your full potential, it's crucial to develop a diverse skill set across multiple areas, enabling you to create various income streams and avoid the limitations of specialising in a single area...I understand becoming an expert in one area can be beneficial, but it can also lead to stagnation and monotony especially if you have been in an industry for quite a while...Sooo to maintain motivation and keep the fire of creativity burning within, consider expanding your skill set, which will enable you to tackle new challenges and explore different areas on the daily..This approach is in line with the notion that 'If you don't challenge yourself, you will never realise what you can become,' and 'If it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you..' These phrases highlight the crucial role of venturing beyond comfort zones in promoting personal growth and self discovery... ROYAL FAITHFUL BACKDROP
It is a rare privilege for a 14yr old to design, create and fabricate a backdrop for Their Majesties King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipauʻu Tukuʻaho..Indeed, this was an exceptional opportunity.. We were honoured to create a unique backdrop for their presence.. Given my daughter's creative abilities, I entrusted her with this task, and she accepted it with enthusiasm and dedication.. Without hesitation, she approached the task with professionalism and ease, demonstrating the qualities one would expect from her mother's daughter.. I am extremely proud of her..As the design brief required creating a unique Tongan design concept backdrop, we sought to develop a simple design concept that showcases our rich cultural heritage, framing the stage rather than positioning it behind their majesties, thus avoiding diversion from the dignified presence of their Majesties.. Although we often draw inspiration from other cultures, Tongan culture is distinguished by its rich heritage of utilising natural resources and valuing craftsmanship and artistry passed down through generations..With this in mind, we utilised materials that would somewhat evoke or symbolise those elements, leading to the creation of

How does one effectively address criticism from clients or others regarding one's work? We are indeed in an industry where our work is subject to judgment and various biases... It definitely is not be easy at the best of times..However, as professionals, we must take the feedback graciously, step back and re evaluate our work, and consider whether we agree with the criticism or identify areas for improvement.. It's essential to maintain a level head at all times, view the feedback as a learning opportunity, and strive to do better in the future... While acknowledging the feedback, it's crucial not to dwell on it excessively, as it may derail our focus..

SUPER SATURDAY SUM UP

To be successful (purely my opinion) in both life and as a small business owner, I have found the following strategies to be instrumental in my progress thus far.. While I do not consider myself an expert, these personal experiences have proven to be effective in my journey.

□It is crucial to adopt a resilient mindset and persist in the face of challenges.
□Focus on your journey, rather than comparing yourself to others in the industry or your journey.
□Prioritise ongoing learning and professional development, as the industry/life are continually evolving.
□Maintain confidentiality and refrain from engaging in gossip about others' business affairs and or personal life. (You'd be surprised how people love prying and like to engage in/occupy themselves in other people's business. It's simply not classy!! Keep your nose out!! Very simple and will in the long run be beneficial for all.
□Embrace a growth mindset, and view mistakes as opportunities for growth and progress.
□Cultivate meaningful relationships with colleagues across various industries, as these connections can provide valuable support, expertise, and opportunities for collaboration.
□ Establishing a strong support network is vital, as life's unexpected challenges can arise, and having a reliable community can be instrumental in navigating these challenges.
