A mood board is a compilation of pictures, colors
and textures; expressing a concept, style & feeling that will help guide the decisions that there in contribute to your overall design.

MY PERSONAL STANCE?

I’D RATHER CREATE A $85K WEDDING THAT FEELS LIKE $150K THAN A $100K WEDDING THAT FEELS LIKE $85K.

After planning hundreds of weddings, I know this:

Luxury isn’t created by simply spending more money.

It’s created by knowing where to spend it.

Because you can have more flowers, more candles, more styling, more stationery, more everything…

…and still have a wedding that feels cluttered, disconnected or completely lacking in personality.

The couples I love working with understand that luxury is in the edit.

It’s in the way the day flows.

It’s in the quality of the experience.

It’s in the details your guests notice without necessarily knowing why.

It’s in knowing what deserves investment — and what absolutely doesn’t.

And most importantly, it’s in creating a wedding that feels intentional rather than excessive.

My role isn’t to simply take your budget and spend it.

It’s to understand you, your priorities and the experience you want to create, then strategically translate that into a wedding that feels elevated, effortless and completely yours.

Because expensive and luxurious are not the same thing.

And I know exactly where the difference lies.

SHOULD YOU TIP YOUR WEDDING VENDORS? 💸💍

The wedding question nobody puts on the Pinterest board…

“Are we actually supposed to tip everyone?”

Here’s the answer: No.

In Australia, tipping your wedding vendors is generally optional — not an obligation.

But when someone goes above and beyond, solves problems before you even know they exist, stays late or makes your wedding experience extraordinary?

A little gratitude can mean a LOT.

Your planner, photographer, hair & makeup team, florist, DJ, celebrant, caterer, drivers and other suppliers may all play a huge role in your day — but there’s no universal tipping rulebook.

And gratitude doesn’t always have to mean money.

✨ A handwritten note
✨ A glowing review
✨ Sharing their work
✨ Recommending them
✨ A beautiful wedding gallery image

Sometimes the most meaningful thank you costs nothing.

And if you do choose to tip, plan it before the wedding day. Label your envelopes and let your planner or coordinator distribute them discreetly.

Because you should be dancing, drinking champagne and celebrating…

Not managing envelopes. 🥂

Your wedding. Your budget. Your choice.

There is no mandatory tipping rulebook. There is simply gratitude. 🤍

THE CHAMPAGNE TOWER ISN’T JUST A DETAIL…
IT’S A MOMENT 🍾✨

There’s something about a champagne tower that instantly makes a wedding feel more elevated.

The flowing bubbles.
The coupe glasses.
The anticipation.
The photographs.
And that unforgettable moment when you and your partner make the first pour.

But here’s the secret…

A picture-perfect champagne tower doesn’t happen by accident.

From choosing the right moment, to creating a stable base, selecting the right coupes and stacking them correctly, every detail matters.

✨ Choose your moment — cocktail hour, your grand entrance or alongside the cake cutting

✨ Build it properly — a stable surface and perfectly positioned coupes are non-negotiable

✨ Pour slowly — let the champagne naturally cascade through the tower rather than rushing the moment

✨ Get the quantity right — because running out halfway through your champagne tower is definitely not the luxury moment we’re after!

And most importantly… delegate it if you’re unsure.

Your wedding day is not the time to discover that building a champagne tower is an actual skill 😂

At LUKdesign Weddings, we love creating those unforgettable details that turn a beautiful wedding into an experience your guests are still talking about long after the last glass is poured.

Because luxury isn’t always about spending more.

It’s about knowing where the detail matters.

Now tell me…

🍾 Would you have a champagne tower at your wedding?

YOUR WEDDING BUDGET ISN’T A NUMBER
— IT’S A CONVERSATION 💰

As an experienced wedding planner, I know how quickly budgets can get out of control when decisions are made in isolation.

I once had a couple choose a venue because it was $7k cheaper — only to discover that being dry hire meant adding glassware, cutlery, crockery, linen, tables, chairs and more after I was engaged and planned their wedding.

Their $6.5k photography budget became a $13k booking before I was engaged, and they needed three cars but could ultimately only have one when we were planning their bits overlooked by the couple.

The lesson?

Every wedding decision impacts another.

Your budget needs to be discussed at the beginning, reviewed regularly and used to guide every major decision.

That’s where having an experienced planner can be invaluable especially from Day 1 — helping you understand the ripple effect before you commit.

NOW, THIS BEAUTIFUL COUPLE IN THE REEL DID THINGS DIFFERENTLY 🤍

They made some brilliant decisions because they listened to the support, guidance and education throughout their planning journey.

They also had friends at the wedding who engaged me as their wedding planner too because she recognised she needed a planner too.

That’s the power of good guidance.

One couple learns, shares and suddenly an entire circle becomes more informed.

Your planner isn’t there to control your budget. We’re there to help you make better decisions with it. ✨
