Proof that I do occasionally exist outside of the editing suite. Shoutout to for catching this frame at The Lodge Jamberoo over the weekend.
A quick intro for the new faces following along: I’m Charlie, the filmmaker behind the lens.
My approach to wedding cinema is pretty simple: keep it unposed, intentional, and entirely authentic. To do that, I rely on a mix of modern digital cameras and nostalgic Super 8 film. Digital gives you those deep, crisp, cinematic frames, while the raw, textured feeling of real film perfectly holds onto the emotion of a memory.
I’m not about forced poses or manufacturing moments that didn’t happen. For me, the magic of a wedding day is always in the unpolished, in-between spaces. The messy laughs, the quiet glances, and the energy you can’t script.
Whether it’s digital 4K or grainy Super 8, my goal is always the same: to give you a film that feels exactly how your day felt.
If you’re currently planning your day and value the real stuff over the performative stuff, we’re probably going to get along great.
