Such a great day at Events Uncovered 2025 in Sydney!

As someone who’s usually behind the scenes organising, it was nice to simply be a delegate for a change! Even better, I got to check out Sydney’s incredible new events space, .sydney – what a venue 🙌

Big takeaway of the day? We’re always going to need face-to-face events. AI is amazing and certainly helps speed up certain tasks, but it can’t replace the buzz of the room, the spontaneous conversations, or the connections that only happen in person. That’s the beauty of events 🤝

Having organised the Cancer Nurses Society of Australia’s annual congress for the past 13 years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some of the most inspirational nurses in the country.

Cancer nurses are strong, skilled, and highly specialised professionals who bring compassion, expertise, and unwavering dedication to every patient and family they support.

I am incredibly proud to work with you and to see the impact you make every single day. Thank you for all that you do. 💜🙏

Still buzzing after an unforgettable few days at the Cancer Nurses Annual Congress! The biggest event I’ve managed in the 12 years of working on this as this year we partnered with the International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care, and I couldn’t be prouder. Wow! What a day yesterday! 1 event held in 4 cities, two live streamed sessions, 4 breakfast sessions, 4 dinners, 516 delegates, 17 sponsors and 63 presentations!

Deeply saddened to hear this news today - Kristen spoke at the CNSA 2018 congress - she was an inspiration to us all and worked tirelessly to raise awareness of Ovarian Cancer. Taken way too soon, our thoughts go out to Kristen's family at this difficult time xx

CNSA would like to extend their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Kristen Larson who has passed away this week.
Kristen was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 21 and has spent the past six years working tirelessly to raise awareness and advocating for ovarian cancer, both nationally and internationally. CNSA members were privileged to have her share her story with us at Congress in 2018.
Kristen was an ambassador for Ovarian Cancer Australia and has worked on ANZGOG's Survivors Teaching Students program. She is a courageous and inspirational young woman who has been instrumental in securing government funding for ovarian cancer in Australia. Kristen has left a lasting legacy for which we will be forever grateful.
May you now rest in peace.

With the New Year comes a new challenge!
In February 2019 I will be taking on a very exciting challenge – The Krazy Kosci Klimb - A once in a lifetime opportunity for people living with cerebral palsy to reach the top of Australia! The event is a huge date in the Calendar of the Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA) and intends to raise up to (and hopefully beyond) $320k to provide essential funding for the Accessible Gym and Sports Program at the Cerebral Palsy Alliance.
I have the privilege of being part of "Team Harry" - Harry is one very determined 11 year old living with cerebral palsy. He walks with the assistance of crutches and will be taking on the 18km+ challenge with gusto!
As a team, we have a goal of reaching $15,000 towards this amazing charity.
