The World Karate Federation has completed its first eight-week “Guardian Girls Karate” empowerment programme in Australia, hosted at Griffith University on the Gold Coast near Brisbane.

The initiative brought together women for training focused on self-defence techniques, confidence building and responses to gender-based violence, reinforcing Australia’s growing role as a leading hub for the WKF’s global empowerment network.

Guardian Girls Karate addresses the real need for programs that help women and girls feel safer and stronger. The program is rolling out across Australia, with Griffith University delivering programs for staff and students, and Stand With Audrey bringing this work into communities and schools.

DOUBLE CHAMPIONS! 🇦🇺🏆🏆

Our Australian Men’s and Women’s Teams are officially Oceania Champions after an amazing battle against a very strong New Zealand side!

The passion, intensity, and team spirit on display were outstanding, and we couldn’t be prouder of the way our athletes represented Australia.

With these victories, both teams have now qualified for the Karate World Cup in Hangzhou, China from 20–22 November 2026 🌏🔥

Special mention to for the incredible live stream and professional coverage throughout the championships. Fantastic work in bringing the action to everyone watching around the world.
