A community arts and creative worship space, an initiative of Newtown Mission.

Annandale Creative Arts Centre provides a place for the development of innovative arts practice, community involvement in the arts and creative expression of faith. Located in the Uniting Church buildings in the hub of Annandale village life, the centre currently hosts:

- weekly classes open to the community

- regular studio space for working artists of different disciplines

- seasonal worksho

ps

- seasonal performances and exhibitions from professional musicians, dancers, actors and visual artists

- monthly and seasonal opportunities for creative worship expression

Make Art: Open Stage, Open Wall is tonight!

Come along to share your art or support your friends!
In honour of Poetry Month, bring your poems or art inspired by poetry to share.

Poetry can be like music - it has a rhythm, it tells a story. Poetry can be visual - a shape carved by blank spaces, by lineation. Poetry can be like dance - the interplay of body and language. Bring us your artmaking that plays with these intersections; we’d love to see all sorts of interdisciplinary experiments.

One week to go until Make Art: Open Stage, Open Wall! This time we are focusing on poetry, in honour of Poetry Month.

Come by next week with whatever you're making, or just show up to soak in the amazing vibes and cheer on local talent, including our featured artists Lily Knowles and Vanessa Song.

It’s a fun, laid-back night where everyone’s welcome to create, connect, and celebrate all kinds of art!

We are delighted to announce that Lily Knowles will be a featured artist at the upcoming Make Art: Open Stage, Open Wall.

Lily Knowles is a third-year Music Education student at UNSW. She was the winner of the 2022 Blue Mountains Fringe Youth Poetry award and her work has been featured in the 2024 UNSW Unsweetened Online Journal. She has a passion for finding beauty in grief and writing to know herself better. Outside of poetry, she works to build her versatility as a musician through jazz, choir and composition.

We are delighted to announce that Vanessa Song will be a featured artist at the upcoming Make Art: Open Stage, Open Wall.

Vanessa Song is a poet, artist and creator of Chinese and Chilean heritage. She creates at the intersection of art, culture, and ecology through all her work and supports communities — particularly children and young people — to connect with their truth, creativity, ancestry, and the Earth. Her work combines storytelling, faith, activism, and education to empower the next generation and promote collective healing.
