Annandale Creative Arts Centre

A community arts and creative worship space, an initiative of Newtown Mission.

Annandale Creative Arts Centre provides a place for the development of innovative arts practice, community involvement in the arts and creative expression of faith. Located in the Uniting Church buildings in the hub of Annandale village life, the centre currently hosts:

- weekly classes open to the community

- regular studio space for working artists of different disciplines

- seasonal worksho

- seasonal performances and exhibitions from professional musicians, dancers, actors and visual artists

- monthly and seasonal opportunities for creative worship expression

One week to go until Make Art: Open Stage, Open Wall! We had a blast at the last one in January with our first ever multi-arts group improvisation. Let us know in the comments if this is something you’d like to do again later in the year!

We are delighted to announce that LeeAnne Litton will be our featured artist at the upcoming Make Art: Open Stage, Open Wall.

Lee-Anne Litton is a performance maker, performer, collaborator and mentor who has created and performed nationally and Internationally. Her curiosity in the line between aerial performance and dance theatre and her strong investigation and passion for Contact Improvisation, informs her work both on the ground and in the air.

Make Art Night this Wednesday has an exciting new twist. Instead of featuring visual artists and performers from the ACAC community, all of you will be our featured artists!

The first half of the night will be our usual multi-arts open mic, so make sure you’re there to sign up at 7pm. Then the second half of the evening will be a group improvisation and collaborative artmaking project.

We’ve been inspired by people’s vulnerability in sharing fresh drafts and spontaneous improvisations with our community. Everyone who’d like to is invited to bring an instrument to play, dance and move, or write and draw, in a guided improvisation facilitated by the Make Art team.

Let’s make art together, in the spirit of creativity in community.
