Sydney’s Iconic Wedding Institution Colour18 Begins a New Chapter with Event Weddings

One of Sydney’s most recognised names in Chinese weddings, Colour18, will officially become part of Event Weddings from 10 October 2026, marking a new chapter for a brand that has served Sydney couples for more than 25 years.
The date, 10/10, was deliberately chosen for the transition. In Chinese culture, 十全十美 (shí quán shí měi) represents completeness and perfection — a fitting date for a wedding business built around celebrating one of life’s most significant occasions.
Founded by Anni Lam in 1999, Colour18 began as a fashion store in Market City Shopping Centre before evolving into one of Sydney’s best-known Chinese wedding one-stop shops.
For more than two decades, Colour18 became an institution on Sussex Street in Sydney’s Chinatown, particularly known for bridal styling, bridal gowns, traditional Chinese qipao and kwa dresses, and its comprehensive one-stop wedding services.
Colour18 also became a familiar name within Sydney’s Chinese community through its involvement in major community and entertainment events. The business was a multi-year appointed stylist of the TVB Miss Hong Kong Pageant in Sydney and, in 2016, organised a Valentines Day Sydney group wedding that saw a large group of couples marry together in a single ceremony.
After more than 25 years at the helm, Anni Lam is now handing the Colour18 brand to Event Weddings, allowing the business she established to continue into a new generation.
“It has been an honour to be part of the wedding stories of so many couples over the past 25 years,” said Anni Lam, founder of Colour18.
“Weddings bring joy to so many people, and they have brought a great deal of joy to me as well.
“Sy Chung is one of the most professional wedding experts I have seen during my 25 years in the industry, and a very talented MC. Although my time with Colour18 is coming to an end, I am very happy that I can entrust the brand I created to Sy and his company, and see Colour18 continue into its next chapter.”
A new generation for Colour18
Event Weddings has been operating in Sydney since 2011 and has planned over 1,000 weddings, developing its own reputation as a wedding one-stop shop for a new generation of couples, with a particularly strong following within Sydney’s Chinese community.
Event Weddings founder Sy Chung is a well-known media personality and wedding MC, with a strong radio career in both national radio and local Chinese radio.
For Sy Chung, taking over Colour18 also has a personal significance.
“Colour18 is a brand I have known since I was at school. Long before I entered the wedding industry myself, Colour18 was already a recognised name in Sydney’s Chinese community,” said Sy Chung, founder of Event Weddings.
“Anni is an incredibly hard-working and successful entrepreneur. What she has built over more than 25 years is something that has brought pride to our community and has played a part in the wedding stories of thousands of people.”

Colour18 moves from Chinatown to North Sydney
As part of its next chapter, Colour18 will relocate from its longstanding home in Sydney’s Chinatown to a new North Sydney location at 271 Alfred Street, North Sydney.
Colour18 will continue operating as a distinct wedding brand alongside Event Weddings, whose existing operations are based in Parramatta C*D.
The new Colour18 will retain the one-stop-shop philosophy on which the business built its reputation, while combining that heritage with the systems, experience and broader wedding services of Event Weddings.
Bridal fashion will remain an important part of the Colour18 identity, including hire of Western bridal gowns and traditional Chinese wedding attire such as qipao and kwa dresses.

雪梨華人婚禮界其中最具知名度的Colour18將於2026年10月10日起正式加入Event Weddings，為這個服務雪梨新人超過25年的婚禮品牌揭開全新一頁。
雙方特別選擇10月10日作為品牌正式交接的日子，寓意華人傳統文化中的「十全十美」。對於一個陪伴無數新人走進人生重要階段的婚禮品牌而言，這個日子亦別具意義。
Colour18由Anni Lam於1999年創立，最初於雪梨 Market City Shopping Centre 以時裝店起家，其後逐步發展成為雪梨最具知名度的華人婚禮一站式服務品牌之一。
二十多年來，Colour18紮根雪梨唐人街 Sussex Street，成為區內家傳戶曉的婚禮品牌，以新娘造型、婚紗、中式旗袍及裙褂，以及全面的一站式婚禮服務而廣為人知。

告別唐人街 Colour18遷往北雪梨展開新篇章
隨著品牌踏入新階段，Colour18將告別多年來位於雪梨唐人街的據點，遷往North Sydney（北雪梨）271 Alfred Street的全新店址。
Colour18將繼續以獨立婚禮品牌形式營運，與現時以Parramatta市中心為基地的Event Weddings並行發展。
新一代Colour18將保留品牌多年來建立的一站式婚禮服務理念，同時結合Event Weddings現有的營運系統、婚禮策劃經驗及更全方位的一站式婚禮服務。
新娘服飾亦將繼續是Colour18品牌的重要部分，包括西式婚紗租借，以及旗袍、裙褂等傳統中式嫁衣，延續Colour18多年來中西合璧的婚嫁特色。
