The wedding world is starting to come back from their slumber, and we are hiring at George & Smee!

WEDDING STYLIST
We want someone super passionate and hardworking who loves all things weddings. Must be creative, organised, friendly, sales driven and loves working with wedding couples. Confident to work on a wedding from initial concept to ex*****on. Creative eye with knowledge of colour, fabrics, spaces and florals. A network of suppliers preferred. Initially part time with the potential to grow. (2-3 years experience)

FREELANCE FLORIST
Must be super creative, passionate, confident and comfortable with creating beautiful bridal flowers, large installations and arrangements (corporate jobs + weddings). Happy with regular market runs, creating extensive flower orders and driving an auto van. Initially freelance with the potential to become permanent part time.
(2-3 years experience)

Our Style Tip of the week: The use of repetition throughout your wedding styling is key. ⁠⠀
When using styling props, remember to use repetition. We’ve been loving using off cuts of stone and travertine on tables and in spaces for months now, they can sit on their own with flowers or candles within or they can simply be on their own, sitting pretty on the linens, the masculine to the feminine. But if this isn’t your cup of tea, any decorative pieces can be added to create a stunning centrepiece or feature. Just remember with the use of props repetition really is key. So if you choose to use off cuts on your tables say, use them elsewhere.. by your Welcome sign, by the cake, on the Wishing Well table etc. This keeps all cohesive and using a recurring element throughout your wedding day will tie all together. ⁠⠀

The Tablescape details; As they say ‘its all in the details’.. and these actually really get noticed when you are sitting through a long meal and speeches, so we always advise our couples to think about the details and let us design the most stunning place settings. This can be done using beautiful Bespoke name cards and menus, designed in the same style as the wedding invite, the same colour palette as the overall theme ..these items themselves can really make individual place settings look gorgeous as people take to their chairs. It's also important here, to think about what cutlery, plates, glassware and napkins etc will work with the overall look / style you have chosen. @ Sydney, Australia

It’s Wednesday and this week our style tip is meant to help you with your budget limitations. We don’t want your budget to ever be the reason that you cannot still have your dream wedding day. So If your budget doesn't stretch to all the things you desire (ie. a gorgeous hanging install)...try to focus on one key feature to really style up.. this could be an outdoor seating area or a photo-wall or the main feature bar. 🥂 Stylists and florists can always bring in structures, props etc to create height and shapes above a couple or bar and adorn that with flowers and styling props, which still looks stunning.. & creates a gorgeous feature that won’t cost as much as a hanging install!⠀
