Movement, natural, floaty, artistic. Not a rose in sight. One of my favourite recent bridal bouquets that we designed and made, and the bride specifically requested no roses.

MICRO EVENTS …. it’s a thing. ⬇️⬇️ This is how they work….

We like to think of micro events as BIG on amazingness, but SMALL on production and effort…. this means you just need to work out the guest list, have some great music and food, and you’re done! The flowers can be minimal but still BIG on impact - just low on logistics…. which means huge savings.

Here are some of my top suggestions for micro event flowers:
1. small bud vases with flowers for guests to take home.
2. designer arrgmts in colour block design.
3. self set up - just pick up the flowers and take to your event and set up yourself. We pack everything ready to transport and easily put into place when you get to your venue.
4. limit the big stuff - modify the big stuff to be manageable for self set up. We can help you to choose a suitable option for self set up.
5. make a comprehensive to-do list and get one or two friends to be on site to help set up.
6. Get a professional to do flowers - it’s always a better option than DIY! But setting up is not a problem if the flowers are made by a pro and ready to transport easily. You can save hundreds of dollars by doing a DIY set up.
7. BYO vessels for us to flower up… a combination of table vases and larger statement vases is fine for any event.

The Rabbi at this wedding said “may the world you create at home together, and in the wider world around you, be filled with comfort, peace, and love”.

I needed to hear that this week.

Every celebration, festival, or even in the daily prayers, the main tenet of Judaism is Tikun Olam - an obligation to abide by an ethical set of standards, to take responsibility for your welfare and for those around you, and to reach out to those in need. This is what makes our own individual worlds, and the wider world around us, a better place.

We all know people who have battled with Cancer, or are still fighting, and this is a tangible way that we can make a difference.

Instagram Rant below…. Delivery pic just to fill the square🤨

If you’re looking at our instagram account, I hope you can see that we know what we’re doing and that we have a VAST level of experience and skill, and many VERY HAPPY clients!

But… I’m so tired of keeping up with all the instagram algorithms and requirements and the constant requirement to upload more and more, and to become basically a film production company rather than a floral designer! It’s exhausting!

I’m not allowed to have an insta shop because I don’t have 10k followers - ridiculously unfair. What… am I not a real business because I don’t have 10k followers?

We will now be limiting our posting to once a month…. so I can focus on my clients, emails, admin, and customer service, and to have some time to myself and my family instead of filling up time creating reels, stories and other time sucking social media activity!

If you need a floral designer who posts 30x a week to prove that they’re busy, then we are not for you. I’m too busy to post just for the sake of an algorithm🤣🤣

What makes a great head table?

We like to layer the elements including fabric, glassware, paper, flowers, metallics, and candles. Where possible, texture can be added - maybe a placemat, charger plate, or custom tablecloth. And of course, tie it all together in a colour coordinated way.

Most importantly, make it easy for people to chat, and for the food to be served, so that flowers and candles don’t get in the way of either!
