One of my first forays into orchestral booking was assisting David Goodwin to bring the ‘Opera House Orchestra’ together for Sir George Martin’s tour to Australia in 1998 as part of the Sydney Festival
- from memory the brass section was mostly the Channel9 band personnel starting with Paul Thorne & Paul Panichi which really set the tone in such ‘cross-over’ music

Sir George, a very graceful experienced musician very comfortable in front of an orchestra. He turned out to be a very fine conductor!

Sir George wrote to David thanking him for the orchestra.
