👑 CHUCKY TAKES OUT THE KING OF THE NORTH! 👑

Well... we didn't see this one coming! 😅

Potenza's very own "Chucky" — Mat Storer Stockas burnouts — not only took home 🥇 1st Place in the V8 Class at SKIDFEST Charters Towers on Saturday, but he also managed to knock our "King of the North", Nathan Petts, down to 🥈 2nd Place!

Now before Nath starts asking for a recount, we should probably mention a few important details...

This was Mat's FIRST time competing in the V8 Class, and he did it in a borrowed car after his own machine decided it wasn't interested in playing the game! To come away with the win under those circumstances is nothing short of incredible.

A massive congratulations to Matty on a victory that won't be forgotten anytime soon. We can't wait to see what the future holds for him behind the wheel.

But all jokes aside, what makes us most proud isn't the results sheet—it's the friendships that have grown through this sport.

If you've spent any time around these two at events, you'll know they're always helping each other out, jumping in each other's cars, sharing knowledge, lending a hand, and doing whatever it takes to keep each other on track. Even when Mat's gearbox let go, Nath was right there trying to help get him sorted.

That's what Team Potenza is all about.

The rivalry on track might be fierce, but the respect and friendship off track are even stronger.

We're incredibly grateful to have both Mat Storer and Nathan Petts representing Potenza Motorsports. The trophies collect dust, but friendships lasts forever!

🏁 POTENZA MOTORSPORTS – V8 CLASS WINNER! 🏁

A massive congratulations to Potenza Motorsports team member Mat Storer for taking out 1st Place in the V8 Class this weekend at SKIDFEST 2026, Charters Towers QLD! 🏆🔥

This achievement makes it even more impressive considering it was Mat's first time competing in the V8 Class and his first time ever competing in a Holden. After this result, we have to ask the question...

Is it time to swap the Ford for a Holden, Mat? 😉

What makes this win even more special is the story behind it. After suffering gearbox failure in his STOCKAS Falcon while competing in the 6 Cylinder Class, Mat's weekend looked like it could have been over. Instead, the motorsport community stepped up.

A huge thank you goes to Shayno Collyer for generously lending Mat his car, "Toothless," giving him the opportunity to continue competing. That act of sportsmanship led directly to an unforgettable V8 Class victory.

We would also like to thank all the competitors, crew members, friends and spectators who jumped in to lend a hand and help diagnose and repair the gearbox issues. The support shown throughout the weekend was nothing short of incredible.

This is exactly what motorsport is all about — competitors helping competitors, mates backing mates, and everyone coming together for the love of the sport.

At Potenza Motorsports, this is the kind of culture we want to see more of throughout the motorsport industry. The camaraderie, sportsmanship and willingness to help one another are what make events like SKIDFEST so special.

Congratulations once again, Mat. A well-deserved victory and a weekend none of us will forget! 👏🏁
