Join us in heaven tomorrow night with as we celebrate World Lindy Hop Day and the birthday of the legendary Frankie Manning, known as The Ambassador of Swing for his contributions and influence to Lindy Hop! (His actual birthday was Tuesday, May 26th)
And to make it an extra fun night we have Coucou Zazous playing for us!! They are a fantastic Gypsy Jazz band with a French twist.
We’ll have a few classic activities through the night - snowball, shim sham, and even a big apple! - start practicing!
Whether you’ve been dancing for years or just getting started, this is a perfect night to connect with your fellow dancers, practice your moves, and celebrate the joy of Lindy Hop together.
🎵 Music: This month will lean heavily to swing music - sorry Rock’n’Rollers, we love you but this month is going to be very swingy - we’ll play a few RnR songs through the night but not many.
👟 Doors open at 7pm - Taster Class at 7.10pm: A Frankie-inspired beginner-friendly class – no partner or experience needed! We rotate during class so you’ll get to meet plenty of friendly faces.
🕗 Social dancing from 8pm with Coucou Zazous: Let’s fill the floor and celebrate the dance that brings us all together.
📍 Location: Arthur Murray Studio – 276 Norton St, Leichhardt
💰 Cost: $23 (includes class + social). Class passes welcome.
