Hillview is the only remaining former Vice Regal retreat in Australia. Originally built in the 1870s, Hillview was the country retreat for the governors of NSW between 1882 and 1958. Hillview is an eclectic mix of architectural styles, creating a very unusual house and is of State Heritage significance for numerous reasons. It encompasses over 2000 square metres of buildings, which are surround

ed by 7 acres of parks and garden. These are reached via a 1 km tree lined serpentine drive that meanders through the 150 acre property; which also features a former Cricket ground, market garden and orchard. The 16 Governors (Earls, Lords etc) left the best house in Sydney for the informality of this wonderful Southern Highlands estate, entertaining Regal guests including; The Prince of Wales, Prince Edward Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Amongst the gardens there are numerous ceremony sites from the forest, to the apple orchard and onto the lookout. Your guests will have the opportunity to indulge in amongst the 7 acres of parks and gardens followed by a formal reception in the Drawing Room or in the amazing Marquee Certainly a memorable Wedding Occasion.
