Former Doctor Who guest, Simon Fisher-Becker has died at the age of 63.

Simon was perhaps best known to Doctor Who fans as the blue-skinned Crespallion black markeeter Dorium Maldovar, in the fifth and sixth series of Doctor Who alongside Matt Smith.

He was a great guest and we are sad to hear of his passing.

He is best-known for starring alongside Matt Smith in the fifth and sixth series of the BBC sci-fi franchise and for his role in the 2001 adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

It was with a heavy heart that we learned of the death last Saturday of our friend and long-time helper, Mariella.

She was a very bright and bubbly person, very caring and a vital helper at our FSF meetings and our CSE conventions.

(For those who remember the older FSF meetings, she was also known as Mark's aunty.)

Her funeral is today, Wednesday 27 Nov, at Rookwood and we will be there to farewell her.

Vale, Mariella. We will miss you 😭❤

This weekend, 9Go! has a Star Trek movie marathon (plus 2 Batman movies)

Saturday's movies start at 11 am, with all 6 Star Trek movies featuring the Original Series crew. That will take you up to 1am Sunday!

Then on Sunday from 10 am, it's The Next Generation cast across 4 movies - Generations, First Contact, Insurrection and Nemesis.

And, if you're in the mood, that's followed at 7pm by Batman Forever (Val Kilmer).

Then from 9.30 pm, Batman & Robin (George Clooney, Chris O'Donnell, Alicia Silverstone, Arnie Schwarzenegger and Uma Thurman). The least said about that movie the better, by all accounts. But definitely one for the completists. (We don't mind watching it now and then ourselves. Each to their own!)
